I am as influenced by the things I don't like just as much as the things that I do, however...I can't get enough of artists like Jill Scott, Erika Badu and Me’shell Ndgedocello, in the past it was all about Aretha Franklin and other soul legends like Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave and Ray Charles as well as jazz artists like Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, John Schofield, Pat Metheny, Dr John, Joshua Redman, Dianne Reeves, Cassandra Wilson, Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and having said that Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Prince, The Jackson Five, Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley, Fiona Apple, PJ Harvey, Sweet Honey and the Rock and Zap Mamma also have a lot to answer for...
