Pete Madsen is a San Francisco Bay Area guitarist, writer and teacher specializing in early blues, ragtime and slide guitar. He has released 3 solo CDs -- 2 acoustic and 1 electric. He performs regularly in venues such as the Freight and Salvage, Jupiter, the Bistro and the Pt. Reyes Station House.
He has written three books of guitar instruction: Fretmaster: Slide Guitar, Fretmaster Funk Guitar and Bass (both published by Backbeat Books), and a self-published "Guide to Acoustic Blues Guitar." Pete also contributes frequent articles on acoustic finger style blues to Acoustic Guitar magazine .
He teaches guitar instruction at The 5th String in Berkeley.
