Pete Morton is a folk singer/song writer. Pete started off as a busker on the streets of Europe. He is now internationally known and respected. His songs are a mix of humour, politics, love and social comment, mixed within the traditional folk genre. He has quite a few solo albums, with original music and traditional music on the albums as well.
Pete's music reaches out to people of all ages, in all countries and everybody. He reaches people in folk festivals, art centres and even some people who don't seem that interested in Folk music.
I'm making this profile for Pete because I find his music inspiring. I'm not that into folk music, but as a child I was brought up in the world of folk. And I have got to know the types that I like and the ones I don't. The main song that drew me into Pete's music is "Six Billion Eccentrics". This is one of my favourite songs. Along with "Goodbye To Oil" and "The Buskers Song".
The song "Six Billion Eccentrics" talks about how everyone is a little bit weird. And it's now become a signature tune for many people.
