Hello there, I've been involved in playing music since 1980.
I play all kinds of Jazz, Western Swing,Old Timey, Rockabilly, Country, Big Band Swing, Rhythm and Blues, Bluegrass, alt pop as well as ethnic folk stuff from Gypsy Swing, Italian Love Songs to Choro Music.
I am involved in bands such as Western Swing Band, The Dancehall Racketeers, Cajun music with Andy Baylors Cajun Combo - Rockabilly bands such as The Starliners , The Stringbusters and Flatfoot Shakers, Jazz with George Washingmachine & Julie O'Hara and The New Orleans Pelicans.R/B with Bopkick. Old Timey string band music and western Swing with The Baylor Brothers. Also do a lot of playing with Chris Tanner{ clarinet} and Mark Elton { Double bass} around Melbourne town and lots of Gypsy Jazz combos.
As a professional musician I've played with over 250 bands in various styles in Melbourne and Sydney - way too many to mention { or remember now }! Ive toured Australia with Doug Parkinson ,Djambi,The Troglodyte Hillbilly Cannibals, The Dancehall Racketeers, Stringbusters, Starliners, Flatfoot Shakers, Mic Conways Whoopee Band and The Eddys.I played Scotty Moore in The 1994 Sydney production of "ELVIS, The Musical".
I've also had the good fortune to tour with US acts such as Ronnie Dawson, Dale Watson, Flaco Jimenez and Deke Dickerson and have supported Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, The Stray Cats, Tav Falco, Rosie Flores, Mark O'Connor and Dan Crary over the years and more recently Mike Compton. There's been some good jams with Wayne Hancock, Lulo Reinhardt ,yorgui loeffler and Samson Schmitt, Paul Franklin and Leroy Jones along the way.
You can find me on records and cd's of The Dancehall Racketeers, Deke Dickerson, The Starliners, The Stringbusters.Toni and the Tomkats, Alex Burns, Sweet Jazz and Blues, The Pearly shells, Louis King, The Flatfootshakers. Andy Baylors Cajun Combo, George Washingmachine & Julie O'hara{ 2007 Bell award nomination, Live DVD available from Newmarket records} ,, Blue Drag, Sweet Atmosphere, The Cairo Club Orchestra, The New Orleans Pelicans, Julie O'Haras Rifftet, MOP and The Baylor Brothers.
I've toured a lot this century overseas. In 2000 with The Starliners we appeared at the Viva Las Vegas festival and toured across to Austin, Texas. Played the Euoropean rockabilly circuit the same year with the Flatfoot Shakers and recorded at Swedens Tail Records. In 2001 The Shakers went to LA and VLV and over to England for the Rockabilly Rave amongst other things. In 2003 I toured the Scandinavian Jazz Festval Circuit with MOP and again in 2006 with The Julie O'Hara Rifftet. I spent 6 months in 2005 on The Michigan showboat in Otsu, Japan - playing jazz with a quartet.Three months there last year playing mandolin with a bluegrass band. All the while, doing laps of Melbourne, Victoria and the east and west coast.
Recently I've been working on a new band called "The Roadhouse Romeos" playing many of my own tunes which reflect my interest in styles such as Western Swing, Hillbilly Boogie , Honky Tonk and Rockabilly. We are a four piece band with steel guitar, guitar, double bass, drums and vocals. We've just put out a new record on the Preston Label, which is Melbourne's Premier Vintage studio. This record coincidentally is the 100th Preston release. Cheers Graeme.
Have a listen. I hope you like it..
ive included some photos { in my photos}of my 1940's tie collection, 30 years of collecting....

A blonde bombshell bad-girl beats seven shades of hell out of rawhide and hickory, while her quick-draw, cocksure cowboy friend unloads his smouldering six strings straight into your gut. Four fine and feisty, untamed tracks of dusty barroom brawl and bluster, best served up neat with moonshine and good times. Fat riffs, black quiffs, southern fried style with a snarl and a smile; mariachi blues wearing dead man’s shoes, with a head full of cheap liquor and a hard rock heart.
