    Hello, Peter!

I just happened upon IHeartGuitarBlog.com thanks to StumbleUpon.com, and then saw the link to this site. I must say I was VERY impressed when I listened to "Mistral". Thank you very much for sharing that.

I seems to me that song gives me a feeling similar to what I experienced when I found this song by Gov't Mule: http://www.myspace.com/govtmule/music/songs/Monday-Mourning-Meltdown-58671240 I'm not in any way comparing you with Gov't Mule, mind you, but both songs made me a quiet, amazed, and attentive listener. Thanks again!

    Best regards,
    Maarten.

Bio:

I'm a guitarist and journalist from Melbourne, Australia.

I've just added a new song, "Travels In Hyperreality," which was a lot of fun to record. Hopefully one of these days I'll grab a drummer and bass player and take some of these songs into the studio.

I recently added a new song called "Mistral." It's a bit different to the songs I've posted in the past but it's a lot more representative of the stuff I play when I'm just hanging around on the sofa playing guitar. Also, check out the new recording of "Just One Thing."

Look for my guitar instructional column in Mixdown magazine. This month's lesson is about using multiple amp setups.

Check out my website, the I Heart Guitar blog, where you will find lessons, reviews, interviews and heaps of other guitar-based content.

I also write for Australian Guitar. Check out my reviews of the Roger Mayer Classic-X pedal and the Indie Shape Natural guitar. I remember buying the very first issue of Australian Guitar, so it's quite exciting to write for the magazine now.

Australian Guitar

Here's my generic shredding guitar solo, filmed on a mobile phone in true lo-fi You Tube fashion.

Here I am playing "Move On" with The Upperhand at The Espy, St Kilda.
