   About Peter Leonard
***HAMONICA ELECTRONICA***

BACKGROUND CREATED BY BECCA THORNE www.myspace.com/lardicake www.beccathorne.co.uk

Pete Leonard was raised in South Wiltshire, the land of the flying saucers. But now lives in the sea side city of Brighton and Hove. At just 22 years of age destined to be an individual Pete is passionate about all kinds of musical genres stating The Doors, Duke Garwood , Tunng & Tinariwen amongst his inspirations. Meanwhile in his spare moments Pete can often be found indulging in his passion for playing banjo and folk instruments like chanrango and lap steel and even experimenting with a genre he lkes to call harmonica electronica......

After playing in many venues and numerous festivals around the south of the country and in London Pete is gaining a considerable fan-base, some of whom, claim the artist “seem to understand the songs more than I do”. Its what, you might say, one might listen to if the Grass Turns Blue…

Bug Bear Review

Folk blues acoustic music masterfully played via the Dobro guitar. That particular kinda axe is jangled delightfully with bluesy bass patterns throbbing thru...Pete mediates various beatific thoughts over this, and does it all himself too. Mean and moody music wherein John Martyn meets Bukka White.

Blues in london Review

It wouldn't be a Bluesinlondon Night though without a bit of a challenge towards what blues can mean in the 21st century and Peter Leonard does just that. His playing draws recognisably on blues forms but works a deconstruction on them and his songwriting is refreshingly idiosyncratic and cliche free.
