Anyone who has worked with Peter Linseman agrees that he is a prolific songwriter, a versatile producer and a trusted consultant. It’s that combination that sets him apart from many others.
Peter is currently writing and recording with international dance music artist & Juno Nominee, Sarina Paris who co-wrote the dance hits “Look At Us” and “Just About Enough”. Peter has also been nominated for the 2009 Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards. Angelica DiCastro received Female Vocalist of the Year and Peter Linseman and Lorne MacMillan received the Best Original Composition nomination for the title track, “Beautiful Feeling”. Peter produced the album and wrote 5 tracks.
Peter and Music Mentor Productions has earned 34 Top Ten Nominations for the CCMA (Canadian Country Music Association) Awards, including a Top Five Nomination for Recording Studio of the Year. Country artist Kristal Barrett has released 3 singles co-written by Peter and has earned 8 nominations for B.C. Country Music Awards in the past 2 years. Peter co-wrote and produced country artist Donna Ferra, who released six national singles including Donna’s title track “Waited Long Enough” that featured Jeff Healey. Peter has written, produced & released more than a dozen National singles over the past 3 years with another dozen singles released nationally and internationally that Peter produced. One of Peter’s successes as a producer comes with a country song, “Mistletoe, My Cowboy & Me” by Judy Kanyo, which went to 1 on the European Country Music Association Chart for 3 consecutive years!
Peter’s co-writer’s include Naoise Sheridan (1 hit “Young” for Kenny Chesney), Tim Taylor (numerous SOCAN Songwriter of the Year Awards) and Sarina Paris. Peter and Tim have scored their first cut and national single release, with “This Time Next Year” for country artist, Kristal Barrett.
Another success story is 15 year old pop singer Mia Kulba, from Winnipeg. Based on Peter’s songs, production and promotion, Mia signed an exclusive Management and Publishing deal with Peer Music, the largest independent publishing company in the world. Peter also produced and promoted teen country/pop sensation, Megan Morrison and landed her a management deal with MEMCO. This prompted Megan’s third national single, “Too Hot To Handle”, one of Peter’s Nashville co-writes. Other projects include writing and producing for the radiant pop artist Cristie Hall. While playing gigs at Healey’s Nightclub in Toronto, guitar hero Jeff Healey fell in love with Cristie’s soulful voice and later married her. Jeff, who has performed and recorded with Peter, called him “a musical genius”. Peter promoted artist Alexandra Slate and pitched her to major label publishers. Alex signed her publishing deal with EMI Canada and went on to sign her record deal with Hollywood Records in the U.S.
Peter gives back to the music community, sitting on the Board of Directors for the Ontario County Music Association, Jury work for Factor, Juno Review Committee for the CCMA, “Date With A Demo” panels for the SAC (Songwriters Association of Canada) and Co-op Placements for The Toronto District School Board at Peter’s studio. Peter is also the Regional Writers Group and Song Stage manager for the SAC’ s Toronto Regional Writers Group.
