One night only!

Saturday May 12th
7pm to Midnight

Eyedrum Gallery - 290 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Atlanta, GA 30312 USA

Come discover the Wild Kingdom of Peter Loose! Growing up surrounded by nature, Peter discovered a true love of all animals. This led him to a short lived career as a State Park Naturalist. Working in the Athens area at the Sandy Creek Nature Center, Peter began painting the wildlife around him. He soon realized this was his passion and began to paint full time. Objects of Peter's brush includes a myriad of birds, snakes, reptiles and farm animals in the form of paintings, bird houses and his signature dulcimers. His brightly colored and whimsical style continues to gain popularity nationally. This one-night only show promises to a night of great art, music and fun! Come join us!

Your hosts for the evening are John Gillett and Bryan Dodd. John's a folk art enthusiast/collector and former proprietor of the Shade Gallery in East Atlanta. Musicians for The Evening

Nashville Nuns
Married Duo Hannibal and Angie Heredia of the Atlanta Americana band "Stovall" bring their Acoustic Styling to Eydrum

FOWLERVEALE
Greg Veal of the "Normal Town Fliers" and Rick Fowler of the Epic Recording Artist "Fort Knox" team up to bring there American Athens based sound to the Atlanta Seen in support of Peter Loose.

Todd Nickelsen
The former 3 O’Clock Sandbox drummer. Combining his punk rock roots with his southern upbringing hindge’s music has been appropriately labeled as folkcore The predominately banjo driven sound is the audio equivalent of the folk artist who captures the stories of the South and the mysteries of the increasingly uncommon, common man. The upcoming release, Whiskey Story Book Collection revives the oral tradition of story telling by blending fact and fiction into an intriguing mess. Blue Room Records

Gabrile Kelly,
Alternative folk trio Gabriel Kelley blends the honesty and simplicity of country music with the intimacy and earnestness of contemporary folk, creating a sound as unique as it is timeless, and refreshing as it is contemplative. Having drawn comparisons to artists such as Nick Drake, Whiskeytown, and Sun Kil Moon, this Athens, GA band relies heavily on its thoughtful, acoustic-based arrangements, combined with yearning, reflective lyricism.

Hey Peter, I just got back from Mexico City. It was a wonderful trip in spite off some shocking changes to my favorite country. The prices here are now the same or more than in the U.S.! And everywhere you go you see McDonald's, WallMart, Home Depot, 7-11, Chili, Burger King etc. My biggest shock was when I went to the Basillica of the Virgen of Guadalupe and there were police with automatic weapons patrolling the grounds. Also when I went to the National Cathedral they were checking everyone's bag Homeland Security style. I guess they worry that these churches could be targets for terrorists. When I went to see the Virgen of Guadalupe I lit a candle and said a prayer for you and all my friends and family. The coolest part of the trip was that I got to see a free concert in el Zocalo by my favorite Mexican rock band, Maldita Vecidad. There were literally millions on people singing along and when they all started dancing you could feel the earth moving! One day we went on a day trip to Tepoztlan way up in the mountains about an hour south of Mexico City. There are ancient ruins and a small pyramid there but we didn..'t have time to climb all the way to the top so I'll have to get my pyramid photos on the next trip. We stopped at an ice cream shop that had about 200 flavors that you could never imagine. After checking out the rose petal and cactus flavors I decided on one scoop of mescal with figs an one scoop of coffee/sweet potato/Bailey's Irish Cream (no kidding!!!) I can..'t wait to go back to that ice cream shop! I went to a couple art exhibits here and saw some incredible sculptures by Dali and Cuevas.
Well it's back to the grind! Hope all is well with you.
Peace & Love, Jeff
