On Studio recordings I play all guitars, vocals, bass, precussion, harmonica and keyboards. This CD though I had some additional help with some great friends and muscians. Ron Perkins has performed bass on some new cuts as well as Tim Readey on keyboards and Lisa Landone on bass. The new CD will be out August 15.
For live playing I currentlyhave Adam Lublin on the drums and percussion, Ron Perkins and Lisa Landone on bass, Tim Readey on Keyboards, Tom Mapes on drums and Susan Lucibelli on baclking vocals. The PLB Band is kind of a revolving door. Players are in when they can and out when they cannot. Sometimes I go out with as many as 6 or as little as one. .
We are reforming the live band and right now and the line up of 6 is sounding fantastic. This is all for the CD release party August 15. Please check back here for updates as to when you can catch us out.
Influences
The Beatles, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Pink Floyd, Journey, Matchbox 20, Zepplin, Bruce Sprigsteen, Edwin McCain, Jeffery Gaines, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Boston, Cheap Trick, Pat Travers, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Seal, King's X, Living Colour, Foo Fighters, Prince, Oasis, Yanni, Miles Davis, Iron Maiden, Fishbone, Queen, Yes, Kansas and so many more I can't think of at this moment.
Sounds Like
I have heard a lot of people say my voice sounds a bit like Springsteen and I also hear it could sound like Tom Petty, Jacob Dylan and Peter Gabriel. My songwriting tends to sound like a combination of my influences. My guitar playing tends to be very melodic and people have told me my instrumental stuff sounds a bit like Joe Satriani. I would like to think I sound like me but don't we all draw from our influences?
I own a project studio called Red Road Recording. I play several instruments and sing. My main instruments are guitar, percussion, vocals and harmonica. I also play bass and a bit of keyboards. I have been in many original and cover bands over the last twenty years and played many venus throughout the North East States as well as New York City. I have performed with an old band called Wildside back in the 90's with Dennis Miller and David Spade on Comic Strip Live, filmed in New Haven Connecticut. We were the house band and that was a blast.
Over the last few years I have gone back to a more classic rock approach and singer/songwriter type rock and have been writing many songs. In 2005 I finished my CD called "Pieces Of Me" that was 3 years in the making. I recorded over 30 songs and narrowed it down to the best 16 and two transitional pieces. Please visit my website to purchase music from CD Baby, i Tunes and Digstation. Currently I am writing many other songs with different textures. People tell me my music hits them as real and the lyrics are heartfelt. Whatever touches me good or bad, I am always writing lyrics. Some make it to music and others just collect as poems.
I also have an instrumental side to me and a few of those ended up on the CD. When making instrumentals I tend to layer a lot so when the listener hears the song again, something new pops out they have not heard.
I have written music and performed all parts for several indie film artisits. That has been demanding but in the end very rewarding. In 2004 to 2006 I have worked with actor Kevin Flynn on a children's animation for Disney. This had many re-writes, changes in direction ups and downs. After many meetings they decided to shelf this project. Too bad as it was exciting and frustrating at the same time. Please visit my website for any updates or further detail.
For live playing I am open to playing just about any gigs but especially ones that benefit people or situations and to help raise money.
As well as live playing I am always looking to promote my original music as well as write with other musicians. Currently several of my songs off the CD are being played in North Carolina, Boston, Cape Cod, WPLR 99.1 Connecticut and Martha's Vineyard on radio stations. Again if anyone is interested in purchasing my CD please visit my website or go to www.cdbaby.com
I have put a band together and looking forward to see what happens. This line up will perfrom the songs off the new CD "Waiting For You" and the one in 05. I have been in this for a long time, had some hits and misses and still, after all these years I am still looking for a way to make in this crazy thing we call the music business.
August 15th "Waiting For You" was released! Start to look for it soon on CD Baby, I Tunes and Digstation.com
Hi Peter I’m sorry I’ve not been in touch sooner but life’s has been getting in the way.
I spent the evening listening and trying to play along. 18 tracks is a lot for one cd but the structure of the album is great and easy to follow. There are some stand out tracks, I will write in more detail on the messenger later. Just wanted to say good work and I will try to learn all the songs but promise not to sing
Best wishes to you and the family.
If any one has visited this site and reading this get the album.
