About PETER CONRAD / Traveling Beatlebury

~ A BRIEF MUSICAL HISTORY TOUR ~

As a solo artist, PETER performs a "Harrisongs & More - A Tribute To George Harrison - Handled With Care", songs by The Beatles, the "British Invasion" era, classic R&R (from the `50's to now) and his own original songs. In 1997, he joined The Pedestrians, who released their only CD, "Living On Dreams", that same year. His first solo CD, "Dream Come True," was released in 1999 and in 2002, "Goodbye George" was released as a CD single. In May of 2005, Peter's 2nd solo CD, "Half Alive" was released with 8 studio tracks and 6 live recordings from: the Thirsty Ear's "Tribute To George Harrison" benefit show (`02) & the Abbey Road On The River (AROTR) Beatles festivals (`03 &`04).

Peter began playing the guitar in 1964 after seeing The Beatles on the "Ed Sullivan Show, and joined, or formed, the following bands/musical projects: The Hague (`68) / Creamfield Traffic (`69) / Headwater (`70-`72) / "musically inactive" (`73-`78) / Top Hat Band (`78-82) / Boneless (`82-`83) / The Unexpected (`84`86) / Cellar Dwellers (`97-`94) / solo acoustic (`94-`07) / The Pedestrians (`97-`98) / TBTRTR (97-`98) / PCB (The Peter Conrad Band) (`98-`06) / AROTR (`02-`07) / The Traveling Beatleburys (`06-`07) / and has hosted over 500 Electric & Acoustic Open Stages (`97-`07)

From 1997 to 2007, Peter was the host of the Electric Open Stage at The Dolphin Lounge in Gahanna, OH. During those 10 years he hosted over 500 "Open Stages", at "D'Fin" and the Acoustic Open Stage at the Thirsty Ear in Grandview, OH. He has also been an MC/host at several Central Ohio music festivals, and has made numerous TV & radio appearances in the Central OH area, including producing & performing in his own local Public Access programs & videos.

In June of 2002 he was invited by promoter Gary Jacob to perform his song "Goodbye George" at the "Tribute To George Harrison" at the first AROTR in Cleveland, OH, and has been a featured regular performer there & it's new home in Louisville, KY, each year since. In November of that same year, Peter helped organize, host and also performed with his band, PCB, at the Thirsty Ear's "A Tribute To George Harrison" show in Grandview, OH, benefiting the Columbus Cancer Clinic. In 2003 George's sister, Louise Harrison, invited Peter to perform at the benefit concert "It Was 40 Years Ago Today" in Benton, IL, celebrating her brother's first visit and impromptu performance in America in 1963. In both 2004 & 2005, he performed at The Cavern Club in Liverpool, England and in London at the Hard Rock Cafe's "Vault" .

Peter performed approx. 2,000 gigs solo & with PCB from 1998 to 2005 in the Central OH area. In Feb. 2006, when PCB/Dolphin "house drummer", Ira Krime passed away at the age of 55, PCB disbanded and Peter went back to being a solo acoustic performer. In May of 2006, he teamed up with fellow AROTR musicans, Two Of Us & Phil Berube to form the Traveling Beatleburys, who made their debut at the 2006 AROTR festival.

In 2007 The Traveling Beatleburys, expanded their sound with the addition of Barry Katz on drums & Kevin Ashba on keyboards & vocals. The new 6 piece Traveling Beatleburys performed April 27 at the Dolphin Lounge in Gahanna, OH, then traveled to Louisville, KY in May (24-28) & Scranton, PA (June 2) and performed at these two AROTR festivals. On June 15 & 16, Peter performed in Belleville, Ontario, for the 1st AROTR festival to be held in Canada. Peter will be performing solo (accompanied by Kevin Ashba on keyborads & vocals) and with the Traveling Beatleburys at the next AROTR on May 22-26, 2008 in Louisville, KY.
