pEter is a band of five guys aged between 20 and 25, from the east-side of the Netherlands (Zutphen). Ever since the first day, seven years ago, the band plays its own material, "because we don't need cover material." Because their material is so catchy and diverse, a gig by the band will never bore you. Their catchy-sensitive pop/rock sound is, every gig again, a big succes.
When they're performing live, pEter turns out to be an energy-explosion. Singer Cyriel lets all his energy and feelings out in the crowd in a way that HAS to move you. It's hard not to move at a gig by this band.
pEter is different from other bands, because they don't try to be the most original band, but the band with the best songs. In band-contests pEter is very often called "the relief of the evening" or "a fresh breeze between all other bands". The sentence: "These guys are going to get very far!" is one pEter has heard very often.
In May 2005 pEter was asked to write the themesong for the "International Scouting Intercamp". The song 'Top of the Hill' released in 2000 copies and at the final night of the camp-week 2500 scouts from all over the world sang along with it. These were the first international steps of fame, considering the reactions in their guestbook at their website.
The future:
pEter is going to give workshops in Zutphen to kids with brothers or sisters with a mental or physical illness. Becasue they have tot take care of their familymembers, there's not much time left for themselves and friends. pEter is going to write with these kids. The songs will be recorded and released later this year. Singer Cyriel says: "We all have an easy life, considered to some of the people around us. It would be sellfish to keep all this happiness for myself."
With their fourth CD, Realife, pEter is planning to get national fame. pEter sounds catchy, is irresistable, commercially seen very attractive, except... they didn't have their breakthrough yet! But the time's right!
