About me:
We do not handle sales or technical inquiries at this page.

Please contact info@petersonemp.com for inquiries related to hardware products or contact info@strobosoft.com for inquiries related to StroboSoft. Thank you.

In the mid 1950s, the earliest Peterson tuners, called models 150 and 200, were marketed after being developed exclusivly for tuning organs. These were the first products to carry the Peterson name. Many of these early Peterson tuners are still in use today.

In 1964, the tuner product line was further expanded with the introduction of the Model 70, the first commercially available, hand-held, battery operated tuner. That same year, a brand new 3000 square foot building was built on 2.5 acres in the Chicago suburb of Alsip, IL to house the growing Peterson company and establish greater financial stability.

In 1968, Peterson’s first strobe tuner, the Model 400, was introduced--variations of which would become the world standard for precision tuning for bands, orchestras, stage musicians, and musical instrument manufacturers.

The 1990s saw the introduction of the SC-5000 12-wheel strobe tuner that, for the first time, used digital stepper motors and sophisticated motor control technology that allowed each motor to operate independently. This facilitated tuning to non-equal temperaments.

Soon the AutoStrobe series, a new line of single-wheel variants using the same motor technology and automatic note detection, was added.

In 2001, the model “VS-1 Virtual Strobe Tuner” was proudly introduced as the first in a new line of portable, handheld tuners that utilize a true high-resolution stroboscopic effect to give unprecedented usable tuning accuracy in a package affordable to nearly any musician or student.

To date, several additional Virtual Strobe models have been developed including the VS-II, V-SAM, StroboStomp and StroboStomp2, StroboFlip, and the StroboRack. Peterson also introduced a computer-based, high precision tuning software industry known as StroboSoft.

Today, Peterson continues its passion for innovation, its focus on unprecedented customer service, and its commitment to uncompromised quality. After sixty years, the future looks brighter than ever!

Hello Peterson Tuners!!!

I wanted to give a quick update as I am so excited about this. The July Electronic Musician "Pro/File: Guitars on the March" feature just came out and is online as well as the newsstands. :)

I am so happy to report that Electronic Musician talked about how my StroboFlip is a "lifesaver" in the studio...

p.s. what is cool is the write up talks about my version of Sousa's "Liberty Bell" which features the StroboFlip accurately keeping nearly 50 guitar tracks and a Russian Balalaika in perfect intonation that I recorded in my guitar symphony..!

Dear Peterson Tuners,
Thank you for endorsing me!!!

It is an honor and a "dream come true" to be part of your "family of artists" as well as being part of the fantastic legacy and contribution to the music industry that the company has created.

I absolutely love my "StroboFlip" and my recordings could have never achieved the precision whilst stacking myriad guitar lines without the accuracy of your products...

It was great meeting the team at NAMM, the booth was "AMAZING" and all the boys looked sharp in those tuxes!

I look forward to many great things with the company...!

Sincerely,

Dan Sindel
