In no particular order. Fiction. Films. Theatre. Art, as long as it's not the chocolate box lid kind. Music. Erotica. Making ends meet without all the fuss and bother of getting a proper job. Horror, but only as long as it's pretend.
Music
Bruce Springsteen. U2. Beethoven. Tchaikovsky, even if I'm not too sure how to spell his name. Aaron Copland. Alanis Morissette. Pink Floyd. But I don't like jazz.
Movies
Equus. Walkabout. Logan's Run. Is anybody spotting a theme yet? Lots of other stuff, but it all seems to have slipped my mind just at the moment.
Television
Not much, though I am quite fond of American crime shows, especially the CSI franchise. Must be something to do with cutting up dead bodies.
Books
Too many to mention, though I will mention Tropic of Capricorn, Beloved, House of Leaves, Creation, Dhalgren, The Cider House Rules, Fanny, Gravity's Rainbow, The Public Burning, Roads to Freedom trilogy, The Big Nowhere, cause name dropping all those makes me look intellectual.
Heroes
Mr Bruno, my No.1 teddy bear, cause nobody knows what that poor boy has to put up with and never complains. His little buddy Frederick is kind of cute too.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."
Shocked by the Irish vasectomy, I decided I needed to find some peace and quiet in myspace - and find you're out and about endangering the lives of tight-rope walkers, and shocking the world with gay erotica (Luckily, my innocence was preserved, as the story was not online - phew!!). but what really worried me was .... there was no mention of your constant furry companion. I do hope there hasn't been a rift...
Hi, Pete! Thanks for accepting the add! It's nice to meet you. :)

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE is now in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten so far:
“SACRIFICE is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend SACRIFICE.” —Famous Monsters of Filmland
“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes
... starring Alan Moore, Steve Aylett, Josie Long, Stewart Lee, Jeff Vandermeer, DH Wilson, Mr Solo, Robin Ince, Leila Johnston, 7-Inch Stitch, Bill Ectric, Andrew O'Neill, Mitzi Szereto, Mo Ali etc.
Chicks dig scars, everyone knows that, right? Meet Severence DeSnappio, a man who creates ‘fake’ injuries for desperate clients. He’ll get you a stab wound, shot gun blast, snowboarding injury - but a bite from a great white shark?
Set in Miami, Chicks Dig scars is a lyrical, Lynchian mix of dream logic and hard boiled detection.
If you would like to read a sample of one of the stories from ISLINGTON CROCODILES’ you can do that now as one of the stories is posted on the Islington Crocodiles blog page. RAIDERS is the disturbing story of Barwise and Micky.
As Graham Joyce says in his foreword to ISLINGTON CROCODILES, ‘This is the edge.’
