Peter Webster and Ross Fergusson began playing together as a duet in 2005.
Our set list is populated by songs from a variety of genres – 60s and 70s pop, some traditional folk, contemporary roots music, even the odd - some would say very odd - original composition. But each song gets the 'Peter and Ross treatment'. So you will hear songs you recognize and which, given enough beer, you may want to sing along to, arranged in an original and (we hope) creative manner. Examples include the Kinks' 'Sunny Afternoon', Peter Green's 'Black Magic Woman', the traditional number, 'Lord Franklin' and Fairport Convention's 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes'.
Peter and Ross performed at the 2007 Folk on the Green festival in Stony Stratford, near Milton Keynes, and are currently recording an album, which, one day, you will be able to buy. In the meantime, you can hear a taster at this page.
The duet is nominally based in Stony Stratford, which is where most of their live performances take place. However, Peter lives in Ampthill, Bedfordshire and Ross in London. We are occasionally joined by Stony fiddle player, Mark Farman (you can hear his playing on 'Sweet Songs' and 'Lord Franklin').
Peter and Ross are available for pub gigs, festivals, parties, stadium rock, large scale tours of any of the seven continents and just about anything else that doesn't involve breaking too many laws. (or more importantly, getting caught...)
