After spending four years mining for pop nuggets with acoustic duo Welmore Mile, Peter Welle has emerged as a solo artist. In celebration, Peter has grown a formidable beard and soon hopes to become the Rasputin of the Minneapolis folk-pop scene.
With a beat-up duffel bag of acoustic tunes both resonant and immediate, Peter set out to make THE SILENT ERA, his solo debut, an album that above all else sounded real. Nothing Pro-Tooled about it. The sound of 3 or 4 friends and musicians huddled around a small studio together, trading guitar lines and tight harmonies - music both spontaneous and intimate.
Set THE SILENT ERA next to CHOICES COLLIDE, Welmore Mile's full-length album, and GOOD TIMES & PUMPKIN PIE, their EP of goofy pop ditties, and you have a sturdy, diverse catalogue. A closer look reveals that Peter's work has shown a consistent love for melody, songcraft, and beauty. His music is layered and personal, all the while remaining accessible.
Thanks for the friend request Peter. Love the music on your site. Plum's on Snelling has a MN singer/songwriter showcase and open mic night every other Sunday. Nick Hensley and Jim Carey host it. You should come by and play a couple of tunes. It's going on tonight - 2/11 - from 9-midnight. Check it out!

I like your new picture. You look like a South Park character. Side note: I was recently in Colorado, and visited the town that the show is based on (true story). And all the people looked exactly like the cartoon characters! (that's a lie).
greetings, my friend. thanks for the pic props, and hello from a brief stint in sweet north carolina.... it's WARM here, how is it there? i like your pics too, come to think of it. you have a purdy mouth too....

hey brutha! anxious to hear your new record. First Ship Out is a nice tease... a good hook and the harmonies are well-placed. i like the less-is-more approach you're taking. instead of Dee Snider for backup vox though, you should consider the guy from Quiet Riot... or maybe... dare i say... BOTH OF THEM??!!!
Hey man, you are awesome, I hope your solo career is going better than mine (running out of money to send for copyrights)haha. i can tell youre on your way! anyway, keep it up, ill be the first in line to buy your next cd
I'm so glad you added me. I don't know what I would've done if you didn't.
Well, I probably would've gone to the pantry and gotten a box of Cheez-Its and eaten the whole box in one sitting, but other than that, I don't know what I would've done.
