In 90s I played on the Pub Rock circuit with Blues / Rock / Boogie Band "Back Street Boys" nothing to do with the American Boy Band of the same name. I gigged constantly for 3 years and opening for many major acts..........
Mid 90s formed his own 3 piece Rock / Blues Band "CRY WOLF" with Mick Lloyd on Lead Guitar & Vocals, Andy Dawson on the drums, and myself on Lead Vocals and Bass Guitar. Many successful gigs and recordings. Late 90s myself and Drummer Andy are asked to form tribute act to US Rockers ZZ Top. Together with Guitarist Martin Bull, we became EZ TOP, many many gigs at top venues up and down the country, as well as many Radio and TV apearances....................
End of the 1990s we call it a day, and me and Andy get back to CRY WOLF this time with Guitarist ANDY HART who later went on to play with Welsh Rock legends BUDGIE.................................................
2000 and I meet up with old friend and Drummer PETE BOOT who also played with Budgie back in the 1970s and recorded their best selling album " In for the Kill" ...... Me and Pete then form another Rock / Blues three piece band called BOOT 66 with MAL THOMAS on guitar........
An excellent album Cruisin' was recorded in 2001 and well received by Budgie fans. During this time I also did many sessions on Bass Guitar,
gigging with JACK DANIELS, OBLIVIOUS, CREAM CRACKERED, LION, The world famous TONY McPHEE of the GROUNDHOGS and also played with another Ex- Budgie drummer RAY PHILLIPS in his band SIX TON BUDGIE............
Yet another version of CRY WOLF with DAVE SPEAKE on guitar and PETE MOSELEY on drums, and many acoustic gigs and recordings with MAL THOMAS as TWO OF US...............................................
In 2005 formed CLEAR WHITE LIGHT with a more Folk/Rock style . RoseStock Starts at 5 pm goes on til aboot 10. 30 ish Free bbq should be a good day; just hope the wethers good have do you feel about a duet I've got the music for feel's like makin' love- bad co I can sing it or play it but not both bit of an anthan inthe painters at the moment biggest reason I'm doin' this is to promote new talent and get them into the habit of bein' paid I'm changing £5 a ticket to anyone who's not working on the day and that will pay for the bbq and the musicians will get paid for there entertainment I'm getting a bit tired of people getting money and not paying a decent amount for their labours I've got a couple of young students who are ready to start performing If you've got anyone in mind let me know All the very best
Hi Pete,its good to hear from you me old mate,and great to see you are out and about doing gigs.You have some great pics on your site,seeing then took me right back to some great nights we all had together.Life is a bit full just now,I spend most of my time in my studio recording.Just put out a cd also working on a solo album,Justine Forrest has come in to play lead guitar with me and I must say its working out first class,she works hard.I could go on Pete,but it would be more fun over a beer.Give our love to Nad and Steph and thank you all for remembering.Ray and Carol. xx PEACE TO YOU ALL..
