About PETE WYLIE.PROUD FATHER OF MISS MERSEY WYLIE,STAR!
PETE WYLIE: PART-TIME ROCK STAR,FULL-TIME LEGEND maverick wayward rock genius! may 25 the mighty wah! played to 20,000 rapturous reds in istanbul at the champions league final the greatest WAH! show ever and as for the aftershow... recently seen commenting on the candidates for uk tvs MUSIC HALL OF FAME But-more relevantly-recording "PETE SOUNDS" a post-therapy rocknroll statement. And its evil twin "SLIME". These will be released on our new label PETE SOUNDS. As will the back catalogue which we now own again. No label.no manager.no great fund of money! But I never set out for any of the above And were ALWAYS willing to talk to people we also got www.petewylie.com where it began...after touring with THE CLASH[AND ROADIEING-See RUDE BOY!] came PETE'S Cult status at the vanguard of the uk independent scene with 3 storming singles including 'BETTER SCREAM' and 'SEVEN MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT' then classic hit records! 'THE STORY OF THE BLUES'! 'COME BACK'! 'SINFUL!' [2004 appeared on bbc's top of the pops for his 3rd decade!] then Broke his back[and chest bone] November 1991 Nearly died Which led to the wilderness years. But still came back with the best album of his life. Mike Joyce from the Smiths drumming at the end of century 20,Sony spent about £1,000,000 on "SONGS OF STRENGTH AND HEARTBREAK". Then dropped him! I know- sony rocknroll... But I like it! And it got the best reviews of his life. HE MAY HAVE SOMETIMES DONE THE WRONG THING;BUT ALWAYS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. dont just take my word for it; Ask Alan McGee[creation records/the libertines] Ask Peter Hook[joy division/new order] Ask Mick Jones![the clash] Bill Drummond of the klf says : 'Pete Wylie is,when he wants to be,spokesman not for a generation, but for mankind. And the second greatest songwriter from Liverpool ever.' ======================================= i'm pete wylie... in the last couple of years i've written and performed soundtrack score and songs for two films: ALEX COX directed 'i'm a juvenile delinquent- jail me' for the BBC,produced by hurricane films. and last year, again for hurricane,i did the same for 'UNDER THE MUD',starring ANDREW SCHOFIELD which is currently at film festivals around the world, and is receiveing very promising plaudits, especially for the music,[or so i'm told by the producers...] prior to that i worked with MARK DAVIES-MARKHAM, writer of award-winning 'taboo' [the boy george musical]on two radio plays for radio 4.the first was'goosebreath'for which i wrote music, and a song, and coached actor Ian Hart in performing the song. i then provided a LIVE SOUNDTRACK for the bbc at the EDINBURGH FESTIVAL-The first in 21 years!-for mark's play 'macwoodstockintosh'. this involved setting up in pleasance square, and performing music andsongs for the play, including several pastiches of bands from the sixties,as well as new material. I am about to release a new record 'PETE SOUNDS' as well as work with peter hook from new order, mani from the stone roses and primal scream, and andy rourke of the smiths;i have already written the first songs with them. i also run a regular an very popular night in LIVERPOOL called CLASSIC! where i perform with guests, and we cover the canon-including our own! and ,oh yeah,on june 23rd i'm playing at knowsley hall music festival with THE WHO! ================================ LATE NEWS! MORRISSEY USES 'IMPERFECT LIST',co-WRITTEN BY PETE WYLIE as intro music on his current shows and it is also the OPENING TRACK ON MORRISSEYS NEW LIVE DVD! and just this march stormed south by south west, including being made an honorary texan by alejandro escovedo at his legendary benefit show at the continental he's got history. But right now is what he cares about, And thanks for listening. x ==================KNOWSLEY HALL MUSIC FESTIVAL SATURDAY JUNE 23-with THE WHO!!! for details, click on the pic in my top friends.

Pete,
Managed to get the Eric's show over here in the badlands of Ohio, USA. Cool show, I miss the old place.. Well I made my fortune outside the music industry. But it was my Eric's scholarship that gave me the grit.

Listening to the programme about "Erics" now! I knew it was legendary in the '80's and the breeding ground for a lot of bands. It is an interesting music history lesson.
Take it easy!
