Soviel kann man ja schon mal sagen.
Biegt aber gern mal vom Mainstream ab. Hin und wieder ein kurzer Blick auf die Karte und dann doch die andere Abzweigung nehmend. Mäandert durch vorwiegend Frau K.s Kompositionen (mehr Mingus als Metallica). Dabei aber immer die Möglichkeit, das Steuer nochmal rumzureißen. Im Endeffekt also die alte Geschichte mit dem Weg und dem Ziel. Kennt man ja. Und auch wieder nicht.

PETRA KRUMPHUBER
geboren in Linz (A)
und aufgewachsen im oberösterreichischen Alpenvorland, griff, als ihre Arme lang genug waren, zur Posaune (warum bleibt ein Rätsel). Etwa 12 Jahre später stieg sie, als am „Bruckner Konservatorium“ in Linz mit Auszeichnung und Diplom versehene Jazzmusikerin und von Gerüchten über eine überaus lebendige Musikszene angezogen, in einen Zug nach Berlin. Seither lebt sie als freelance-Musikerin in Berlin und arbeitet in verschiedenen musikalischen Bereichen,von Jazz bis Salsa, Pop und Theatermusik. Im Jahr 2006 beschloß sie, ihrem ewigen Sidewoman-dasein ein Ende zu setzen und gründete, u.a. auch von der Teilnahme an einem Workshop für „Jazz and Creative Music“ am Banff Center in Kanada inspiriert, mit MusikerInnen der jungen Berliner Szene ihre Band „CROOMP“, mit der sie ihre eigene Musik verwirklicht. Prompt gewann man im Jahr 2007 den Studio-Wettbewerb des Berliner Senats und so wurde im Dezember 07 die erste CD aufgenommen, die im November 08 beim Kölner Label "Doublemoon" in Zusammenarbeit mit der Zeitschrift "Jazzthing" in der Reihe "next generation" erscheint.

that's next Monday, at loophole, boddinstr. 60, berlin neukölln. I hope
you'll all come, so we can have an other wonderful evening of
improvised, free and borderless music (big words!). Again, please bring
as much equipment as you have, although we'll have something there
(amp, mixer, soundsystem, we'll see about the rest...). I'll also
record it again this time.
Next Monday, the 15 th of the month June will be the date on which mweiooje will go in it's fifth edition. You'll again find us at loophole, Boddinstraße 60, Berlin Neukölln. You are again very much invited to join us this time. There are no rules as such about how or what to play - the ability of spontaneous expression in a group consisting of strangers is the only requirement, performing interesting and unique music. en plus: please bring all equipment you have with you, there will be some on location, but since i this time don't know what and how much, please make sure you have something yourself (mixers, mics, instruments)

are heading for the next great evening of improvised music
where we'll once again try to make the border between artist and spectator
vanish, at least make it appear vaguer than usual. So if you got any musical
ideas you think you could share with us, perform at ours, come along next
Monday for another great Open Stage! (But you of course are as well welcome as
a spectator, maybe it will get you)
On Monday, 18th of May Open Stage for Free Music (mweiooje!) is going in it's third round. Make sure you are attending, it again starts at 20 o'clock, at loophole, which is in Boddinstraße 60, Neukölln. The aim will be - as always - to create good music and audio-visuals (for visual-artist Baruch Gottlieb has already announced to come) within the maximum range and variety of styles. Improvisation is the cue behind it.
