Biography

PETS “GIVING UP’S THE HARDEST THING” E.P

PETS brand new ep is a masterpiece that merges the harmonies of the best British pop acts like The Kinks, with the energy of early Motown artists such as The Isley Brothers.

All dressed up in unique fashion, through innovative use of melodica and banjo. Jonte Olsson's clear but unpolished vocals provides grit to a perfect pop-equation.

PETS were formed in 2004, in Storsveden in the north of Sweden. Brought together by their love for the best of past and present music, whether it’s from New York, Kingston or Manchester. Swedish jazz legends like Jan Johansson are another source of inspiration, though more in terms of sounds and moods than melodies.

Hints of the band members’ origin - the colder and darker parts of Scandinavia - are always present. Sometimes in the gloomier parts of their work, and more than often through the instrumentation, which includes traditional instruments used in a modern way.

Just a taste from the full-length album that APRIL77RECORDS will release worldwide in fall 2009 !!!
