Pets Without Parents was founded in June of 2001. We are a non-profit, no-kill, all-breed pet shelter. Our mission is to create a community that nurtures and respects companion animals, and to someday see that every pet is loved.
In order to create such a community, Pets Without Parents functions as a pet adoption shelter, carefully placing pets into forever homes. Additionally, we do everything in our power to help reduce the pet overpopulation. Every pet is spayed or neutered before going to his/her new home. Our mission can only be accomplished through the education of the community -- sharing our beliefs helps to ensure that we are creating a better world for deserving pets.
Who I'd like to meet: Nice people willing to open thier homes to a very deserving dog or cat.

This is the sweet mama dog who has raised her adorable pups (10 of them!). Natty has seen all her puppies find their new homes....and Natty is still waiting for hers. Please come by to meet Natty. She would love the attention!

Hey,I dropped her off about 6:30. Unfortunately I don't think she was very happy and cried a bit. I'm not sure if i'm the only one with experience with her when she is outside the shelter, so I thought I would point out some things. She is very good inside, she does not jump though sometimes will go up on to two legs to inspect something. She also did not chew or try to eat anything in the house, and was very obedient while others were eating. She barked just once while she was inside and that was because another dog was outside in the yard. She does enjoy laying and sleeping on the furniture and also does not seem to mind being in a cage or room by herself for periods of time. She seems to consider herself a bit of a lap dog at times. If you don't mind her being on the furniture she is a perfectly trained house dog. Overall I just wanted to give some insight on her in a different setting. It would be great if we could find someone soon.
Kitten Season is here!
We're overwhelmed with cats and kittens! We literally have no more cages. We simply cannot take anymore surrenders. Please - we need you to help our felines! If you're looking for a feline friend, make PWP your first stop. Don't fall trap to the "free to a good home" ads in papers*. While we do have an adoption fee, it's packed with a veterinary package. Our pets are already spayed/neutered, vaxed, dewormed, feline leukemia tested, and if they're 3 months+, they also receive a rabies shot. PLUS, during July and August, adopt one kitty, and the second kitty's adoption fee is half off (for qualified adopters). Adult cat adoption fees are also reduced. *Remember: there's really no such thing as a "free pet."

Join us for Mingle With Our Mutts – This is a multi-shelter/rescue event held the first and third Sundays of every month at the Franklin County Dog Shelter. From 12:00-2:00, we sit with adoptable pets and talk with potential adopters. Come on out and meet some of our most deserving dogs & cats!
Visit us at Petco – The Lennox Petco and Pets Without Parents have a very strong relationship. We take PWP pets there every weekend for two hours per day. Also, see some cat's from PWP there every day in their adoption center. Petco has designated Pets Without Parents as a beneficiary of their in-store fundraisers.

It is so hard with only one car between brooks and i to get up to see you and the animals! plus i am workign 3rd shift also so no more stopping by in the ScArY animal control van and people either thinking i am a cop or there to take all of your dogs! haha !
