Hi, World!
My name is Petter Carlsen and I’m a music maker. I was born at the very end of the seventies in Alta, up north in Norway.
My music is a bit melancholic and quiet. Still at times, explosions do occur and dynamics are an essential part. I guess you can hear that it’s dark almost every hour, day and night, throughout the winter (and its long) where I come from. However I don’t pity the sadness, there is lots of hope involved if you listen carefully.

I worked for a while as a sound technician in Oslo. More and more I became aware of that something was missing. For a while I thought I was homesick. That became the explanation of my discomfort. Eventually I discovered the reason. I had for too long ignored my need to do what I love the most; making, - and playing music. I teamed up with producer and technician Christer André Cederberg. We immortalized my songs in his studio.

In 2005 my father became very ill. I went home even more often than usual. Then it struck me. You only live once. (At least that’s what I think). I moved back to my hometown to give my sounds an honest try. With priceless help from friends, family and local traders I released an EP called “A taste of what’s to come”. Since then I have lived in a suitcase playing concerts both with- and without my band in Norway mostly, but also in England, Germany and Russia.

The best version of me on this planet, is the one who’s playing and composing music. It took a lot of time gathering forces, before I dared to give all I got. On the 24th of august 2009 I released my debut album “You Go Bird”. I’m very proud of it.
