The Petticoat Tearoom formed in late 2007 as a loose collective of musicians. The most recent and enduring incarnation of the band was realized in late 2008.
Each of the members have played in different musical projects before coming together to press onward with this new collective sound. The respect for each other and the focus on the song – its arrangement, instrumentation, melody and lyrics – have excited the members and fueled a desire to play this homemade music for the public.
A debut full-length album will be released in September 2009, to much excitement by the folks who made it possible, including a number of musician-friends of the band who contributed to its creation.
There is not much more to say, except that for some reason this group feels a calling to contribute to humankind’s wonderfully diverse songbook, and the journey thus begins.
