On Saturday, September 13, 2008, the Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL) will put on its 20th Annual Pet Walk Fundraiser at Roger Williams Park's Temple To Music. Pet Walk goes from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, rain or shine.

Pet Walk benefits the league's ongoing efforts to rescue, rehome, and provide critical care to the Ocean State's homeless pet population including cats, dogs, birds, small animals, and a lot more!

Why You Should Attend PARL's Pet Walk 2008!
Pet Walk features a scenic and fun 3.5 mile walk for you and your dog through Roger Williams Park. In addition to getting a little exercise for you and your pooch, you can:

-- Shop & visit with our exhibitors
-- See obedience demonstrations
-- Support PARL & its mission
-- Try your luck with our raffle
-- Play pet games

For What It’s Worth	Jul 14 2008 3:23 PM PUNKS FOR PETS!! Check out our show section. We have two shows in RI that we are taking donations for local animal shelters. Please spread the word and help out. There are way too many abandoned animals out there and the shelters can't afford it on their own. If there is anyone in the Lowell, MA area who can get me intouch with an organization there we will have a donation box at out Aug 15th show too. Thanks! You even published a little story about her - which I still have back in the summer of 1998- she nursed a kitten which wasn't her own. She's beautiful, loving, and very special to us. Erin the Awesome	Sep 6 2007 3:47 AM This will be me & Lady's 3rd time at the PARL Pet Walk. First year I think we raised $50, last year I think it was $150, this year I already have $165. Here is lady's story: My family adopted Lady on August 7, 2004 from the Burrillville Animal Shelter. We were told that she was 5 yrs old, hated kids & cats, and was a pound dog probably all her life. Well after a little love and care, she doesn't hate cats (probably thinks they are small dogs) and doesn't have a problem with kids (sometimes they scare her. Oh and she's now probably closer to 12 yrs old. Lady has flourished in our care and will continue to do so. http://www.firstgiving.com/emccombs
