Influences
The better angels of our nature. Friction. Chaos. Entropy. The sound of one hand clapping.
Sounds Like
Four (or more) people with instruments chasing the inspiration of the moment (or our own tails).
Clay and Tony played together in Ghostcar. Matt and Ken play together in Stoogeaphilia. Clay, Tony, and Ken played together (for one show) in Kamandi. A chance meeting between Clay and Ken at Fred's Cafe, a couple of e-mails, a couple of phone calls, and PFFFFT! was born at the Chat Room on 4.20.2008. Karl Poetschke provides long-distance spiritual guidance. When we get together, we clear our minds, we listen and respond to what's happening in the now, and whatever happens, happens. On 5.18.2008, Eric Harris from Yeti joined us for the third set and made it PFFFF(F)T! On 6.29.2008, ubiquitous bassist Jeremy Hull subbed for Matt and Eric returned, making it PFFF(FF)T! On 7.27.2008, Daniel Huffman joined us to make it PFF(F)FFT! and almost a Ghostcar reunion. On 11.16.2008, a real Ghostcar reunion failed to eventuate, but Jeremy returned along with Matt Hickey on synth to make it PFF(F)(F)FFT! On 12.21.2008, we were P(F)FFFF(F)T!, with trombonist Marcus Brunt and Hickey (again!) sharing our stage. While Clay's taking some time off to play with The Boom Boom Box, Ken and Matts Hembree and Hickey (the latter on electric gopichand) are playing with Mark Cook, Bob Fisher, and Terry Horn as Yanari/PFF(F)T!. On 2.21.2009, we played the penultimate weekend at the Firehouse Gallery. On 4.29.2009, Jon Teague joined Yanari/PFF(F)T! (minus Bob) onstage at Lola's 6th Street. (Terry's video from the second set that night is on Yanari's Virb page.)

Would love to. I shall see what ye's schedule looks like. Maybe I'll bring my sax next time, although the only noise I can produced from it sounds like a duck being rogered to death.
