We lost a great one last night. Rest in peace, Joe Bungo. Remember the good times, the laughs, and his smile. When I started at Triangle, before I really knew who Joe was, I recall seeing him cross the Forbes & Grant intersection with a kind of mystical smoothness. I thought to myself, "that dude knows how to ride..." My deepest sympathies go out to his family, and friends everywhere. Rest in peace, Joe.
A couple of months ago, I stopped going out to the bar, and started hanging out on the computer a lot in an attempt to teach myself to build a website for messengers.
For many reasons I felt is was important that the messenger community have a place to go to seek advice, share stories, announce events, and talk some shit. I know many BMA's and regions have boards that have served the local community well, but I felt we were lacking an international forum. The messenger's list serve is an option that has existed for years, but I am hoping to provide a website that is less invasive and more accessible for all couriers.
I have spent two months teaching myself how to get this thing up and running, with some help from a few really supportive friends, -in most cases uploading one file at a time and checking links between jobs. I hope that you'll want to check it out, and find it useful for everything from sharing youtube videos to unionizing efforts.
