Beautiful, Talented, Sophisticated. Three words that describe singer/songwriter/actress Phaedra. Phaedra , Cambridge, MA began singing and performing in her community at the tender age of nine, quickly gaining attention for her special gift of a four-octave voice and incredible performing talent.
The pearl in the shell of the Boston music scene, her incredible voice won her numerous fans and led to multiple performances at political fund raisers, singing the national anthem at Fenway Park, and receiving multiple honors and awards including a Key to the city, an NAACP Award, and A Hall of Fame Award from her High School Alma Mater, Cambridge Rindge and Latin, past inductees include Patrick Ewing, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck.
As a teenager, Phaedra launched her professional singing career as one of the 3 members of Lady Soul, a hip-hop, dance, and R&B group, formed by famed producer Maurice Starr, who produced New Edition and New Kids On The Block. The trio achieved an American RIAA-certified gold record with their self-titled debut album.
Having turned into an in-demand singer, Phaedra performed around the world, touring with Joey McIntyre of New Kids On The Block and touring with Najee as a featured vocalist, which led to a once in a lifetime opportunity in South Africa, when she performed alongside the likes of Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, and Kenny Lattimore for Nelson Mandela’s 80th Birthday Celebration.
Phaedra continued to solidify her studio work following the tour, recording with jazz luminary Walter Beasley and many other artists and recording tracks for the “Hairshow” soundtrack, as well as appearing on the Rosie O'Donnell show and several Disney specials.
Currently, Phaedra is hard at work developing her debut album, featuring unique producer/songwriter collaborations with Nisan Stewart, Mike City, Rapture Stewart, LT Hutton and DSP.
