To wit, headlining tonight’s bill is Talibam!, a synth-drums twosome that approximates the sound of the Doors’ rhythm section being swept away by a tornado of radioactive dust. Barker and saxist Rob Brown, playing as a duo, have worked together extensively in William Parker’s Little Huey Orchestra. George Steeltoe Ensemble contains no one by that name, but it does feature up-and-coming local improvisers such as bassist Tom Blancarte and drummer Brian Osborne."
