Before Pharaoh could take his first breath, he was in a fight for his life. The doctors informed his parents, Silas and Alicia, that one of their newborn twins would die because the umbilical chord was wrapped around his neck, and his heart was failing. Pharaoh’s grandmother, Otharee Jackson prayed with Pharaoh’s father, and pleaded with God to spare Pharaoh’s life. Miraculously, Alicia gave birth to two, healthy twin boys. The first born was Pharaoh, and the second Stephan. From the time he took his first breath, it was on.
Pharaoh’s mom introduced him to music before he could walk and placed him and Stephan in classical piano lessons at the age of 3. Growing up in a household of ten, two parents and eight kids, there was never a dull moment. Pharaoh’s and his siblings entertained each other, whether it was making music, playing sports, or clowning around. His mother, a talented piano player and playwright, never missed an opportunity to have her twin boys perform in front of the extended family, the community, the church and the school. By the age of six Pharaoh was accustomed to being on stage, having fun with it, and being himself. He rocked shows in D.C, Brooklyn, Harlem, Philadelphia, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, Indianapolis before the age of seventeen. Pharaoh and his twin brother made their national debut on BET’s teen summit performing snippets from 7 of their original songs. After turning down recording offers from several labels, Pharaoh and his twin attended college and graduated. While attending college, Pharaoh performed at talent shows and spent sleepless hours in the music building rehearsing with his band and developing his talents.Pharaoh matured into a prolific writer, singer, rapper, musician, and producer. Shortly after college, Pharaoh and his twin moved from New York to sunny California to spread their wings in the music business.
Pharaoh has performed with Flo-Rida, Rick Ross, K-Ci and Jojo, Aaron Hall, Tank, Too Short, Gorilla Black, Jadakiss, Digital Underground, Dru Hill, Musiq SoulChild, Mariah Carey, Suga Free, Yoyo, Papoose, Randy Jackson, and many more great artists. He also performed his original songs at comic shows hosted by comedic acts from BET’s Comic View, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N’ Out and NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Pharaoh’s song “Fitted Hat Low” was nominated for an Underground Music Award this past summer and caught the attention of Universal/Motown, Slip N Slide/Def Jam, Atlantic Records, and Interscope.
Pharaoh has overcome many obstacles to get to where he is today. Through hard work, dedication, pain, and persistence, he is ready to drop his debut album, Harlem Renaissance. Pharaoh Jackson, a gifted singer and rapper (who plays three instruments), will take Hip-Hop/R&B music to a level never seen before.
