Influences
The obvious... the odd... the unforeseen.
Sounds Like
Brothers and sisters of The Void, Phased take a big ole' cauldron of bubbling MC5 energy and stir in a nightmarish blend of classic space rock influences to create a euphoric blend indeed. Phased provide the perfect soundtrack to a zero-g mosh on a retro star liner to Proxima Centuri. Place in rotation with Farflung, Datura, Gas Giant, Nik Turner, and lets not forget the mighty space fathers... Hawkwind. (Kevin Mc Hugh)
Rarely have a band sounded so malovelent. This is nasty, Black Sabbath run through a cement mixer, a meditation to medications. This is the sound of a world teetering on the edge of chaos! If Satan has a soundtrack then this is it. (Stuart Hamilton)
(Ulli Heiser)
Phased – three men, three instruments, a wall of sound. Phased have been called the "Hawkwind of doom". Whatever... in Phased the sunburned desert meets the blackness of doom. Distorted riffs and a droning bass dance to a tribal rhythm and fall into the maelstrom of the void: "psychedelic deathrock"! Sounds as if they were some long-haired dope fiends. But with a humour that makes for song-titles such as «Woke Up This Morning And Gave Myself Head» they must be intellectual shoeshine boys of the fooling kind.
Founded in 1997, the band went through various line-ups and one slight name-change – from Phased 4°F to the simpler Phased. Today, the band consists of founding-member Chris Sigdell on vocals and guitar, Marko Lehtinen on drums and Chris Walt on Bass - a trio with members from Sweden, Finland and Switzerland. Maybe it is this mixture that makes for the weirdness… it certainly makes for the aggravation.
Phased have played with bands such as: HIGH ON FIRE, ORANGE GOBLIN, DOZER, GAS GIANT, COLOUR HAZE, MISDEMEANOR and taken part at both the SWAMP ROOM festival in Munich (2005) and in Hannover (2006) and also STONED FROM THE UNDERGROUND 2007, closing the season with the MAD SANTA festival in Switzerland!
Their third album «Medications» is a weird concoction of stoner, doom and space-rock, and develops the sound of predecessor «Music For Gentlemen». It was recorded and produced by V.O. Pulver at Little Creek. «Medications» - not only is the title a nod in the direction of the late great Coltrane, it is also a declaration of content: while “Music For Gentlemen” generally dealt with the male (miss)understanding of the feline side, this time it’s all about the use and side-effects of mind-altering substances, time travel and darkness. What else to expect of a space-doom band? Ten songs, no filler... just one killer!
Phased, one microcosm full of giant sound.

Your music makes me want to set the world on fire and bathe in the ashes of all the dead while drinking the blood of a thousand sacrificed virgins. ;] hails!
Hey Chris, Would love to review the new record and interview you for it when the time comes. I remember the last album well and am looking forward to hearing the new stuff.
