Phaser was a Washington, D.C. band writing, performing and recording from 1998 - 2005. They released four records including 'Silverscreen Daydream' (1998), 'Skydive' (2000), 'Sway' (2001) and 'Sleeper' (2005). Their record 'Sway' was re-released in 2003 on Emperor Norton Records. Their last EP, 'Sleeper' was released in 2005. Singer, bassist, and keyboardist Boris Skalsky and guitarist Paul Wood now have a band Dead Heart Bloom that has recently released a new series of EPs.
REVIEWS
"Awash in sleepy, swirling vocals and dreamy delay, invokes Spiritualized as much as Floyd. An unforgettable band." - Doug Levy, College Music Journal
"Whether the band's music is climbing to weighty wall-of-sound rock crescendos on 'Life and Illusion', or is curling up in spooky, langourous folds of sonic silk, its depth and beauty is hard to ignore." - Rolling Stone Online
"If an established genius like, say, Beck or Dylan shaped a disc as lovely and accomplished as Phaser's debut, "Sway," it would be hailed as a career pinnacle. The D.C.-based indie rock quartet has created a staggering album filled with sultry symphonic shoegazer rock, rousing gospel-folk, forgivable Pink Floydian noodlings and classic piano balladry. Call it a career breakthrough." - Linda Laban, Boston Herald

What is the state of this band? Has Dead Heart Bloom put a knife in Phaser? I enjoy both tremendously but still curious as to whether or not Phaser is technically even a band anymore. Can someone please answer this for me?
