PHESTUR was born in the spring of 1999. Early on there were line up changes until the right fit was found.
then the main goal was to get PHESTUR out to the masses. With unrelenting gigs, the band trudged on refining their sound and style hitting clubs from southern Ohio to Toronto Canada.
The band has been a part of Undercurrents 2001 and 2002. CMF 2003,2004,2005 and2006 , the international musician's expo 2002, many radio shows from college to mainstream radio.
Putting out 5 self released full length albums, FUJITA'S PAD [2000], HERE IT COMEZ [2001], PHESTUR 3 [2004], FINE' POMPEII [2008], IMPACT [2008]. and many E.P's the band got notice from Sonic Wave Intl. and signed on re-releasing their 3RD. album PHESTUR 3 on the label renaming it PHESTUR downtown and underground.
This CD earned the band 2 Grammy considerations, JADED ME [best hard rock performance] DOWNTOWN and UNDERGROUND [best rock album].
2006 ushered in a new era as the band reformed with a new line up and immediately put out an unplugged teaser E.P. showing the acoustic side of PHESTUR . The band's 4th album "Fine' Pompeii" released in 2008 and marked a first for the band as the album was recorded, mixed, mastered all in house by the band. Now into 2010, the band weathers another change in drums, and begins their 5th album and another unplugged album to release late 2010 and 2011.
PHESTUR has staked their claim of a new genre. Even with hints of Nirvanna / touches of Green Day, the band is not quite punk, not quite grunge, their sound was put best by an Ohio label that had interest in the band, they called it 'rough trade rock'.
With 'phans' in the U.K., Britain, Autralia, japan, germany, italy, and the U.S. and all points in between the band has made many contacts over their 8 years. States Hines "We've even gotten Euros in the mail with CD orders...that's way cool, though where can you spend a Euro here in the states?..."
Could all this culminate to 'greatness' one day? who knows, ask the guys in the band and they might say.."if it does, kudos to us, if it doesn't, who cares, we are having the time of our lives anyhow, so does it really matter?"
got phestur??
