My interest in Puerto Rican music and culture comes from spending a month in Puerto Rico each winter for my work. I fell in love with Puerto Rico the first time I went in 1993 and I've had many adventures since. I've met a lot of good people and made some good friends there. I learned to speak and understand Puerto Rican Spanish, and my friends say I'm more Puerto Rican than a lot of native Puerto Ricans, a boricua de corazón. I have so many good memories...

About me: If you're lucky, you're listening to the song "Dale la Mano" by Puerto Rican rapper Funky. It's a beautiful song, but the refrain is the most meaningful for me. It goes, "Y nunca te olvides de donde Dios te ha sacado,
no vaya a ser que más adelante caigas por no haberte cuidado," which translated means, "And never forget where God took you out of. Don't fall later because you didn't take care of yourself." Okay, it sounds better in Spanish, but so does everything else, heh heh heh :-). I've been into a lot and through a lot, and have survived because of God's grace. It's still a struggle, so I always have to remember where I've been so I don't go back there again. I'll add more to this over time--this is just an introduction.
Update 1-24-2008: Funky's song was withdrawn by artist so I had to pick a new one. None of my favorite reggaeton songs are available so I picked Christian rapper Lecrae's "Praying For You." I thought I was putting it up for a friend, but as the song says, I'm really praying about me.
Update 4-7-2008: Got a new song up, "FIYA" (Free In Yahweh's Abundance) by James Fortune. It's a song of hope and freedom through Jesus Christ. I'm done with self-pity. I prayed to God, "Teach me how to love" and He put some wonderful people in my life to do just that: Angel, you led me to Christ and taught me forgiveness. Duane, my accountability partner-in-crime :-) We've been through a lot together in the short time I've known you--you've taught me to get back up after I've fallen down. You've helped me grow and tap into God's healing power. "If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 18:19). Be healed my brother, I love you! Keith, my brother in Christ, and Shawon, my nephew in Christ, you're my role models. You give me something to be proud of :-) To all of you, and to the others I didn't mention (you know who you are), I LOVE YOU!!! I'm not where I want to be yet, but I'm well on the way and I thank God you're with me on this journey.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to make some good, solid Christian friends, people who can accept where I've been, and who can help me along the way to where I need to be (like Christ). I say this because I'm relatively speaking a "baby Christian." If I can help others along the way, that would be the ultimate, because THAT is being Christ-like.
Casting Out Satan St. Matthew 4 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Get thee hence, Satan: Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto [Jesus].
Proverbs 3:31 Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways,
Proverbs 14:30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
Proverbs 23:17 Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD.
Proverbs 24:1 Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company;
Just as the caterpillar wraps itself into a cocoon and doesn't emerge again until it experiences change, wrap yourself in the Word and don't come out until you experience the change you want and need.
I'm convinced that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it through to completion on the day of Christ Jesus.
God our Father, the birth of your Son Jesus Christ brought great joy to Mary and Joseph. We give thanks to you for (Phil) whose birthday we celebrate today. May he ever grow in your faith, hope, and love. On this their special day, I pray for them. I pray for smiles and love, for friends that are true. I pray for sunshine, for warmth and tenderness. I pray for unexpected moments of joy and laughter. But most of all, I pray they have peace. We ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Valentine’s Day is for honoring love; To show those we love we care. Red hearts with tender sentiments We send, our love to share.
So on Valentine’s Day we’re reminded Of our very first Christian goal: To love the Lord with all our heart And all our mind and soul.
To love our neighbor as ourselves We are also told to do, So let’s live our love by the Bible; It’s God’s word, flawless and true.
If we give this Christian Valentine first, We’ll never run out of love, For infinite love will come to us From God in heaven above. (Written By Joanna Fuchs)

May God, grant you the Serenity To accept the things you cannot change... Courage to change the things you can, And Wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, Enjoying one moment at a time, Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, Not as you would have it. Trusting that He will make all things right if you surrender to His will. That you may be reasonably happy in this life, And supremely happy with Him !!!
I speak this blessing over your life in the mighty name of Christ Jesus, With my whole heart, I pray you recieve it Amen.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK, KNOWING THAT GOD LOVES YOU AND IS FOR YOU AND NOT AGAINST YOU. God of Your Trouble, God of Your Heart" Gloria Copeland Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
– Psalm 32:7 In this day and time, trouble seems to surround us on every side. If it's not a failing economy, it's a failing business, a failing marriage, or failing health. Yet, in the midst of seemingly overwhelming problems, God has promised to deliver us.
If you want God to be God of your trouble, then you must let Him be God in your heart. God honors those who honor Him. If you're facing problems, don't just start kicking and screaming and begging Him to save you from them. Honor Him by going to His Word and doing what He says to do.
Psalm 34 is a good place to start. It says, for example, to seek God (verse 4). As you seek Him, He will deliver you from the things that threaten you.
Secondly, it instructs you to cry out to the Lord. He will save you out of ALL your troubles (verse 6).
Next it tells you to fear the Lord. Verses 11-14 tell you exactly how to do that: Keep from speaking evil and deceit; depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Remember, if you want God to be God of your trouble, let Him be God of your heart. When you do that, all of heaven will get involved in your deliverance--and your triumph will be guaranteed.
