We're a newly established networking blog on vox.com that's trying to incorporate the city of Philadelphia's undergraduate/graduate art scene (including writers/poets, musicians, fine artists, etc) into a better established "guild." The blog is going to be launched extremely soon, and we're going to have very frequent updates. We plan to:
- Sponsor/Put on/Promote shows (music/art/poetry related)
- Help young writers and photographers get some experience
- Promote, Interview, and Review events
- Do individualized spotlights on specific artists/musicians/writers
Because basically, the group of us basically is a bunch of college writers and artists trying to glue students together.
The blog also consists of local art, bands, and other hopefuls who we do periodic reviews, articles, and essays on. If you know someone in Philadelphia or the surrounding suburbs, (students or not, but preferably students) we'd love to do a piece on them. If you're interested in writing, please check out the blog (philadelphiart.vox.com), e-mail us (philadelphiart@gmail.com), or message us through Myspace asking for our "application." This is non-profit group, and amatuer college writers/photographers/whatever-ers are specifically desired.
Eventually, we'd like to establish an independent website-blog, publish periodical zines, and merchandise will be readily available soon.
Please use the comment section to not only post upcoming events, and please also join the thread on vox to support us. Stay creative!

Who I'd like to meet: You! If you've got an artistic talent, we'd love to get to know you.
