I like to read, I enjoy listening to NPR, I like to draw, write poems, journal, make pottery, paint, refinish furniture, enjouy working at summer camps, mentoring kids, walking my dog, going camping, learning about history, visiting new places, visiting national parks, crashing block parites, visiting with friends,and most of all helping other people.
Music
Music is very important to me. It effects my mood very easily so I have to becarefull what I listen to. I also get songs in my head very easily. I love all types of music. For me it is more about what the music is saying and the feel of the song then the style. I like instumental sound tracks like Gladiator, road to perdition, MI2. I like all worship and gospel music as long as I don't disagree with the theology in the lyrics. I love rock in roll. 80's rock, oldies music, jazz, christian, reggea, anything.
Movies
I like movies that make me think or open me up to a different experience then my own. Some favorites are, The mission, Hotel Rawanda, Rabbit proof fence, Pelle the concourer, American history X, Crash, city of God,House of sand and fog. I like advanture action movies like Last castle, Reign or fire, lord of the flies, lord of the rings, supper troopers, GI jane, I also enjoy watching throw backs from my childhood, Goonies, never ending story, sandlot. Finally, I like old musicals my family used to watch, My fair lady, Sound of music, Hello dolly, Yankey doodle dandy.

Books
Books serve two purposes for me: entertainment and growth. Entertainment I like sci-fi stuff. Lastyear I finished robert jordan's Wheel of time series and started clan of the cave bear series. they got a little erotic for me. Cu8rrently I am not reading any book for entertainment
For growth some of the most meaningful books I have read have been, community and growth by Jean Vanier, Jesus and the disinherited by howard thurman, Dancing with skidheads by david pierce, The theology of the hammer by Millard Fullerc, the abolition of man by C.S. Lewis, Just generosity by Ronald sider, The smell of sin by Don Everts, No man is an island by thomas merton, Blue like jazz by donald miller, a long obediance in the same direction by eugene peterson, letters from a skeptic and God of war by greg boyd, and brucancio by bruce olson.
I am currently reading Fast Food NAtion. It is horrifiing. But I am so glad I read it. I will never eat a hamburger agian untill they stop letting shit get into the beef.
I also like to read magazine, National Geographic, SoJo, Prism and Dwell.

haha, as for Borg, I find him quite thought provoking. I first read him in The Meaning of Jesus, which was co-authored by N.T. Wright. I find his scholarship pretty compelling (like that of Walter Wink). At any rate, don't worry about it-- the shows have gone well thusfar, and each remaining venue generally has a good turnout. Unfortunately I'll be in the air just after lunch time Sunday, but thanks for the invite. Hope things are going well with you and the cell group too!
