SONGWRITER based in Sydney Australia, Phil has a huge collection of songs, Pop, Country and Children’s songs. He has had several Australian Record Industry Award (ARIA) nominations for his work and an APRA song nomination in 2000 for best children’s song. He now Has a Production / Writing room in Level 7 Studios (Old 301), where he obsessively writes songs for Nashville.
Recently has started a Kicking New Country band "TWANG BABY",, with Mishelle B Jones and the Level 7 A team, Pete, Jamo, Benny T. Recording Album APRIL 07’ with Nashville Producer Nick Brophy (Rolling Stones, Lenny Kravitz, Phil Vasser). Phil’s other big project at the moment is Co writing and Producing an exciting "Indigenous Album" with the very talented Miss Chritine ANu. Release July 07’
Having worked closely with loads of Australia’s most talented artists and songwriters in recent years, including, Erinn Sherlock, Kieran Lancini, Mishelle Bradford - Jones, Hughie Murray, Hayley Jensen, Marty Worrall, Claire Wyndham, Mick Mooney, Josh Boots, Scott Cain, Bianca, Laurence Sorbello, Jake Nicolai, Jamie Sullivan, Benny T, Darren Coggan, Daniel Jones, Julie Strickland, ANdrew Schravemade (yes shriv your finally on the list - stop hastling).
He has been inspired in recent years by the move of good friend Kylie Sackley to Nashville, and since September 2005, has made several trips himself and Co-written with some great writers including Jason Matthews, Roxie Dean and Leslie Satcher. Thanks greatly to good friend and mentor Greg Shaw (Keith Urban) hook ups, Nashville is now very much a second base for Phil, as he spends 3 months per year in Tennessee. "It’s the best place in the world for Songwriting!"
Coming from a background in Children’s music, with ABC Group "The Flower Pot Gang:, Phil now has a production / songwriting company called "Juice Music", with Aussie keyboard player extrodinare Scott Aplin, and together have recorded over 40 albums in recent years for the ABC Label.
