I have been playing and singing since I was12...that was a few years ago. Played in various bands around Buffalo, NY (e.g., Hard Times), toured with a band from Niagara Falls in 1972, which included a gig touring with the late (and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer) Cornell Gunter and the Coasters. Left all that to go back to school, etc., but always played, sometimes in church, sometimes with friends. Last year I got married, moved to Saratoga Springs and found the Caffe Lena open mic - great friends and musicians and very supportive. It's a great place to play all the covers and originals I've been messing around with through the years - two songs at a time. Meanwhile, I'm now playing gigs elsewhere - I am pretty eclectic - in addition to originals, I like doing blues, country, folk, rock, standards - you name it - (I like taking requests too.)
Phil, I uploaded your video. It came out great, I think.
You know how to find it, but if someone who is visiting your myspace page and reading this wants to find it, then they should go to my website www. jamesfrederick. net and click on the "Inside the Open Mic" link.
And I'll put the pictures and video from Bands on Broadway on a CD and bring 'em to Lena's next time (not this Thursday, though).
Yo! Sorry I didn't interview you this week. I had already asked Gary. (I know I have been hounding you...) Maybe next time! (Let me know in advance. I know you like to know what you are going to play before hand).

I had a blast cutting loose on the triangle for your tunes. You should have seen me rockin' out! Talk about triangle over kill... anyways, thanks for returning the favor on my song. That was awesome.
PS- I think I am going to ask for a triangle and a cowbell for xmas... you can never have enough cowbell...
I just realized that I hadn't commented on your CD yet... well, I did comment on it, but it was only to myself and no one else really heard it... except, of course, for the voices that I refer to as "the others" and who often hear thoughts that I have that are meant to be private ones... know what I mean? Voices...
Anyway, I do really enjoy the CD. It came out quite well for it being done at home. I'm imressed with the full "band" sound that many of the tracks have. Nice work!
I listened to your CD in the car today and really enjoyed it, I haven't had a chance to hear some of your originals. Your track about "Maggie" was my favorite, what a wonderful mix of humor and tragedy...that makes for good songwriting. See you soon, and thanks.
Stephanie and I can't make your Lena's show with Willie. Just thought I'd tell ya, so don't think, "I thought they might come... but they didn't... what's a matter with those guys?"
We'd like to, but I'm still learning my new job and it's a little stressful. I can't really be up late on a "school night."
