Dario Lombardo: Blues guitar player and singer, he has worked with Phil Guy since 1987 all around Italy and South Europe. During the years he become Phil' s very close friend, living in Phil' s house during his Chicago stays as Phil used to do while in Italy.--------------------------------------------------------------------------Lisa Mallen: she has been Phil Guy' s manager during the last 4 years. Among her job's results the winning of the Chicago Music Awards 2008 and the proclamation of April 28th as the Phil Guy Day by the City of Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2005.
Chicago Blues Legend Phil Guy passed away August 20th, 2008, at 9.45 am.
This is the official Phil Guy' s myspace, managed by Dario Lombardo and Lisa Mallen and authorized by Phil Guy and the Phil Guy' s family.
Phil has been one of the first Chicago Bluesmen to play with bands overseas, he has been the real Chicago Blues Ambassador around the world. I.e., he has played for twenty one years with Dario Lombardo around Italy, France, Spain. Their musical cooperation has been the longest one between Chicago and Italy. As he did with Dario, Phil worked with many other musicians around the world. I.e. Pepe Ahlqvist and the Wentus Blues Band in Northern Europe during the last years, and Adrian Flores and his bands in South America. Phil also recorded many cd' s out of US, always supported by local bands. The main purpose of this website is to collect memories and testimonies of his work out of US, trying to chain together all of the bands involved into this story. The invitation we do is to send us (or link us to)photos, musics, videos made during your tours with Phil Guy. The Man is gone, we got to keep his memory alive Working Together.
