so far i believe the only resemblance is the pubic bone, vertibraie etc (My spelling really sucks! and i call my self an author! lol) i havnt noticed much else other than small wings which species have been known not to use. It would be very cool to find dinosaur remains in a modern day bird egg though, if you think about them before they grow their feathers tho you will see their skin can be rather scaley.
wouldnt an Oviraptoroid be an egg theif? although bird like as they are. I would Agree with what you say about the birds losing their ability to fly like chickens and penguins but then take a look at Gastornis, surley this would resemble the first missing lionk between dinosaurs and birds as it walked on the groujnd, could fly and was a carnavouire. Of course we all know Archaeopterix had a large rolel to play in the link between dinosaurs and birds but this di not have a beak. I dunno, there still alot to suggest that this could be true as they have recently discovered a tyrannosaurus with Feathers! perhaps few fossil remain show the delicate indent of their feathers. But this being true, surley then the myth of Dragons would or could technically be true?
so your saying that dinosaurs had evoulved feathers from the point of the triassic period? thats certanley bold thinking but i Can see where your coming from whe you think about the creatures related to the coelophysis, its very bed like its self and most scientists these days believe that feathers are no more than fluffy scales. my self on the other hand believe that they had not eveolved the fathers until late cretaceous along with the birds. Sure there is plenty of logic to suggest that as the anatomy is there then surley the looks must follow but what about beaks, wings and tallons? all known within the bird species and as the first bird didnt evolve until late cretaceous there is plenty of logic to suggest the same with the feathers.
did you hear about the latest discovery in China? Giganotoraptor? or somthing along the same lines? i think it shares a strong resemblence to therizinosaurs.
