Philip Boone's open-hearted-style is a rare commodity in an age of mixed messages and discord. Born the son of a travelling minister, he rarely spent a full year at any one home growing up. Their travels took them all over the U.S., and at each new home, there was Philip learning to sing tenor in the church choir. As a child, he was kept completely shut off from popular culture. Then, at the age of eleven, he heard Bob Dylan's 'Blowin' in the Wind' on the radio for the first time. Amazed by what he had heard, Philip persuaded his father to buy him a used guitar and a chord book.
As he reached adulthood, the minister's final sermon landed Philip in Austin, Texas. On his own now and captivated by the Texas Hill Country, he decided to abandon the perks of modern civilization. He lived alone with no money, making his home in a tepee, learning to survive off the land. Still having had no exposure to popular music, minus the one Dylan tune, Philip started writing his own songs. They deeply reflected his solitary way of life.
Time passed, and Philip grew restless. He yearned to discover the world he had been protected from all his life. Once again, this time with nothing but his guitar, Philip hit the road. Naive to the dangers, he began hitchhiking wherever the next car would take him. His journey finally landed him in the artistic community of Topanga, California. The people of Topanga welcomed him openly with food, shelter, and even funding to record and produce an album of the songs he had written.
Philip still resides in Southern California, busking in the streets for tips and playing shows in the LA area. His debut CD entitled "Cannons and Bells" is now available for purchase.

"The charm of this album is in the voice and guitar, supported by all the underplayed instruments. There's a little mystery and a touch of awe crafted into these songs with lyrics that draw me in. With all these views of the single subject, maybe Philip Boone doesn't understand a single moment of love, but he has certainly felt it." Billy Sheppard Music Reviews

"Your music sounds beautiful...I really like it, keep it up!" Emil Svanangen (Loney, Dear)
"Philip Boone's debut cd 'Cannons and Bells' is emotionally raw, musically exceptional and moves me to my very core. I look forward to hearing more from his angelic voice and guitar." Angela Winters Penthouse Variations
About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D ~ Dee ~

If I’m in the top 4 I get to play a showcase for record executives and could win 100 free hours in the studio.
If I were selected, it would really help me rock some faces off, please take a second and vote.
Thanks!
