Originally from Australia, Philip had a background in Fine art, Graphic Design, & Illustration before returning to his Celtic Welsh roots in 1993. His passion for painting large scale figurative canvases, drawing his inspiration from his native Australia and time spent studying in India, uses hand-crafted skills & techniques that he has learnt to master over the years.
Most of his works have been created using oils and acrylics, gradualy building up the subtle layers of colour & texture to free his vision onto the canvas before him. Some of the larger works (for example Avatar and Lila) have taken several months to complete, due to the intricate levels of detail involved, and you can view a fabulous selection of his Figurative paintings on his website at ~ www.philipshadbolt.co.uk ~
Philip's works can now be found in collections all around the world, with his use of rich, vibrant colour and nature inspired subject matter providing a welcome escape from everyday life, and his Healing Arts have now become much sought after.
Although his time is spent working on his own new inspirational creations, he is still available to discuss your thoughts regarding commissioned artwork, or anything else, and is happy to arrange an appointment for you to visit his Brighton studio !
