WHY DEFEND YOUNGSTOWN? Because the Mahoning Valley is a unique area, built by the
blood and sweat of laborers long since passed. These individuals
forged a Valley which served as one of the greatest mid-sized
cities in US history. Those days are now gone and Youngstown has
been left to search for a new identity. Through this search, we
have suffered through significant economic depression, decay,
corruption, and crime. This has left the once proud empire of
Youngstown with quite a tarnished image. Now is a time of change
in Youngstown. Although frustration is understandable due to
challenges created over decades of idleness, we must now support
new leadership, progressive planning and our commitment to
something greater. This change must be fueled by a new,
comprehensive mentality as well - the spirit of DEFEND
YOUNGSTOWN. The battle for Youngstown will be hard fought but it
is one that must be fought and won. 'Attacks' from outside and
from within the Valley by those who choose to do nothing will no longer be tolerated - it is time
to defend. Fight the good fight: GET INVOLVED. TAKE CONTROL. DEMAND PROGRESS.
