Phil Kieran has been in the upper echelons of the electronic music game for more than a decade, but is only now releasing his debut album under his own name. Known for rocking clubs and releasing a string of killer twelves,Belfast-based Phil has hooked up with German powerhouse Cocoon in recent times.Sven Väth's label is now about to release "Shh", a groundbreaking piece of work that will undoubtedly gain Phil plaudits across theboard.
"Shh seems to not only reference every sound Phil has ever loved in music, but is formulated in a completely fresh and futuristic way. Listen carefully and you can detect elements of dub reggae, old hardcore like LFO, hip-hop, early 90s electronica such as Autechre/Black Dog and other Warp staples, as well as the futuristic techno that Phil excels in. For the album Phil went back to old sound lab recordings dating back to the 1950s and 60s. Utilising some of these sounds in the initial construction, he built up tracks using a combination of old samples sourced from original and weird places and some live new instrumentation as well. There are live drums, some electric/acoustic/bass guitar and live keyboard playing as well as some choice guest vocalists.”
[Cocoon]
"I tried to use all my knowledge from when I first got into music to try and make an album that captures everything I've ever loved about music," Phil says. Phil has synthesized his myriad of influences into one radically beautiful whole: blissed-out vocal samples, space age electro, cavernous bleeps, fizzy technoid 4/4 beats, glistening glitches, crackers crackles, early R&S sounds, warm keys, acerbic bassline undertows, dense echoes, Orbital cinematics and randy robotics all feature, but really this is an album far greater than the sum of its parts. It's very much a ..home.. or car listening album, perfect for post-club play, although plenty of the individual tracks contain discerning dancefloor dynamics too.” [Phil Kieran]
"killer album !!! full support !! " 5/5 [DJ Hell]
"awesome, modern and retro in one, warm and personal enough to be one of a very small number of dance music albums i'll actually listen to in my house.." [James Holden]
"wow, sounds amazing .....perfect new school techno....played resp 3 nights in a row for mega-aussie festivals......will be played at every show" - [tiga]
"Phil's music has always been on the cutting edge of electronic music ,he has defied easy categorization and helped to steer electronic music into exciting and uncharted territory". [Dubfire]
"it is what I hoped to get. A strong, dark and deep longplayer with variations from clubtunes to electro to chillout.Produced with love and lots of little details which make it a worthwhile listen carefully. Probably my favourite album this year " [oliver huntemann]
"phil has taken it to another level with this outstanding piece of electronic music " [david holmes]
"wonderfull album between sophisticated
ambient and pure british tech-bombs. high
quality release, a must." [stephan bodzin]
"Phil's debut solo LP shows the world just how sonically talented a producer he is" [funk d'void]
"this album is Amazing....very Analog sounding ...very Daring ....well done Phil " [Harry Avers Noice radioshow]
Just wanted to let you know that we have proudly released a new Glitch/IDM/Downtempo album by the two Scottish founders of the Section 27 netlabel, Nonima & theAudiologist, titled, 'Almost Tomorrow'. The album is a dynamically crafted work of art, with constantly mutating sounds and textures, over stuttered popping beats, with layers of intricite glitches weaving around the nostalgic melodies, creating a unique wall of sound. The release is available for free download, from our page or the link below, where the tracks can also be previewed. Just click the image to be directed to the page!

Productos BMM presents:
BMM 33 Tantrum Light LSD Island EP with the remixes of Paul Hunter, Da Trash & Zimaleto Genre: Minimal, Techno, Tech-House.
Some comments: Carsten Rausch: The Da Trash Remix is a cool piece of percussive Techno. I will definetely play that. Dave James: Yeh I like the original trippy vocals. Galuszka: Tantrum Light offers a track that is straight up techno. The mood of the original mix is very Terminator 2 (Judgment Day) in its vocal work and sound choice. The remixes of this project ad funk, especially the Da Trash remix with it's rolling quality. Bodgan Taran: I just love the melody on Zimaleto remix of LSD Island. The Reddman: I listened all the remixes and was very impressed! I have to say I just loved the Paul Hunter remix of the LSD Island track. There was something about it that just kept the groove going for me. Moog Conspiracy (Elektrotribe / Buena Onda): I ll play Tantrum light - Da Trash remix. Marc Fuccio (Fresh DJS): Favoutite mix is Paul Hunter remix. Wicked groove of a bass line that instantly got me to my feet. Great production and construction. Graeme Park: I really like the Zimaleto Remix of Tantrum Light's LSD Island. Such a great groove. <a href="//www.beat
