Phil Kieran hates artist biographies. He cant help thinking the next 3 minutes of your life would be better spent sticking on one of his records and letting the music do the talking.
But which record? Although there is a signature sound to a Kieran production it is a struggle to pick just one tune which defines the multifaceted audioscape Phil has created during his 12 year production career.
Sure , Vitalian House was a throbbing launchpad; House Nation bounced its way into the clubbers subconcious and SkyHook EP (Novamute) surprised us with its distinct glitchy sound but like any 30 year old musical maestro worth his salt, Phils influences are vast, ranging from Aphex Twin, Brian Eno and Nu Wave Punk to the truly obscure.
Drawing on these, Phil has circumnavigated deep musical waters, releasing over 100 solo releases on labels such as ..........blah. Last years pairing with German Heavyweight label Cocoon, saw him commit to electronica with the release of Missp and wasps under a toy boat, both unescapable dancefloor staples.
Phil's debut solo album , out mid 2009 on Cocoon is packed full of treats for the Techno thirsty. A quick preview promises trademark pounding basslines, challenging chords and glitchy switchwork unexpectantly peppered with moments of pure clarity and beauty.
His rich musical heritage and meticulous studiocraft hasnt gone unnoticed. Phil's hit remix for Agoria (L'Onzieme Marche(date) ... opened the floodgates , and soon he was inundated with treatment requests for artists as diverse as Nitzer Ebb, Motor, Roel HT. Raumschmiere, and Unkle.
In a bid to reconcile an urge to make people dance with a deep seated love of punk and rock , Phil started the critically acclaimed band, Alloy Mental www.myspace.com/alloymental.
Gigging extensively and simultaneous to his heavy DJ'ing schedule, Phil still quotes his favourite experience as supporting all time heroes New Order, yet neglects to mention other high profile performances at Glastonbury , T in the Park and Global Gathering.
New record label , Flying Cabbage has Phil at the helm in his new role as label boss. The first two releases ‘Pinhole of Light’ and ‘Again and Again’ mean the label looks set to become one of the essential European Imprints.
If a track sounds good, if it can move you inside or out, it has a home at Flying Cabbage.

Diesmal mit von der Party sind die Jungs von SUPER FLU aus Halle. Verst?rkt wird das Line up durch Wolfagang Brand von der Feierfront und vom Radio E-volution aus Uslar.
