..Hey peeps,.. ..Thanks for dropping by. I've been a music journalist for many years now covering a wide variety of genres and acts, although I do specialise in crate-digging for funky music from all around the world. I've also interviewed many rock and dance artists, including Massive Attack, Placebo, Moby, Rufus Wainwright, KT Tunstall, Gogol Bordello, Balkan Beat Box, Air, Zero 7, TV On The Radio, The Bees, Herbie Hancock, David Byrne, Gilberto Gil, Natacha Atlas, Nitin Sawhney, Steve Reich, Khaled, Rachid Taha, Carla Bruni, etc. So I'm open to all kinds of influences (check my blog above). .. ..I've compiled thirty compilations to date, of various styles that people would likely place under either 'world/chill/or beats' ... *sigh*. We all love a good pigeonhole don't we? Music is music and you either like it or you don't.... .. ..MySpace seems a great place to advertise my comps as I don't think I've ever seen them in one place before, and also it's a great place to be able to network and catch up with old buddies and maybe a few bands that I've interviewed in my other capacity as freelance music journalist for the likes of The Independent, Observer Music Monthly, Songlines, HMV Choice etc etc. If we've met before please check in and say hello!.. ..peace.. ..Phil .. .. .......... .. .. .. ............Myspace Layouts.... - ....Solid Colors Myspace Layouts...... ....Myspace Codes.... - ....Myspace Generators.... - ....Myspace Backgrounds.... .. .. ..

  • Influences

Almost too numerous to mention. I'm influenced by music from all over the world, whether it be rock, pop, arabic, afro-beat, balkan brass, asian underground, funk, soul, alt.country ... my policy is that if if sounds good to my ears then that's good enough for me. Best look at my discography and also check out the features I've written for various publications.
