About me:
I grew up in Cary, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh. I started playing piano at around age 4 and also had interest in soccer. I spent time with both through high school. At 15 I moved to Tucson, AZ and started playing with my first band which was a ska-punk group. I started listening to Dream Theater and fronted a band finishing out high school. I decided music was the direction I wanted to go and began studies at the University of Arizona. After a year there I found the environment was less than encouraging to a musician that wanted to create and perform while in the program, so I moved to Nashville at the age of 19. Playing country music in Tucson helped me make my decision and I haven't looked back since. My influences range through all genres so I can draw on many different experiences of playing with jazz combos, prog metal and rock bands, and intimate duet sessions with singers. At the age of 20 I started my first road gig with CMA New Female Country Artist of the Year Kellie Coffey. The experiences with her out on the road would hugely impact my maturity as a musician. Playing in front of sold-out arenas on the George Strait tour in 2004 was a real eye-opener as to the enjoyment and rewards of being successful in this field. I ended with Kellie after the tour to begin working with country recording artist Jo Dee Messina. Working with this organization as well as with Ty Herndon, Rodney Atkins, Trent Tomlinson and others have kept me busy and excited about playing music. I always love playing with other musicians that share my passion and for fans that are ready to be entertained. The energy shared between a band and fans is an energy that is hard to describe or duplicate. I worked with Messina until the beginning of 2008, and am currently doing some work with country artist Blake Shelton.
