Two blokes with lots of software, loads of samples and bloody sillyideas...
Phil n' Dog met through their love of music (other peoples) and soon realised that they shared a lot of common musical tastes, including a taste for the stupid. It was Xfm giving away the 'pella for Electric Six's 'Gay Bar' that sparked off the working partnership and they haven't really looked back. Granted, 'Gay Muppet Bar' isn't perfect, but it's very silly and silly is good. They carried on working together and hit the highlight of their (sort of) illustrious career* when they created 'Doctor Pressure' in October 2004. September 2005 saw the official release of 'Doctor Pressure' and Phil n' Dog became household names, well to those who knew it was them who created the track in the first place anyway...
The pair have DJ'd all over the U.K. and such glittering places as Amsterdam and San Francisco with no expense spent to entertain the masses. They've also become festival favourites at The Big Chill and Secret Garden Party.. Plenty more things are on the cards for the London based duo, so watch this space. If you can't be bothered to watch it constantly, why not get a friend to watch in shifts, therefore easing the strain.
* Notorious more like it...
The Orb play "Gay Muppet Bar" during their live show at Islington Academy, London.
I saw you guys at the Big Chill and all my mates agreed you were one of the highlights of the festival. Totally unexpected when we only dropped in to the finlandia for a cocktail! When are you playing in London next??? I need to know!!!
Hello chaps! Good to hear from you. How did the rest of that gig go? I have a couple of pics from that night, they all looked better on the LCD screen though! I'll send them across.
Thanks Doggy - of course I don't have anyfink else to do all day... I'm a laydee of leisure, innit? Going to Primark this afternoon to buy my boy some chav cloves :-)) x
