A két ex-Rare Blue tag, Quickhand Pete és Heavy Tact által alapított, budapesti zenekar 2008 óta létezik. 2009-ben csatlakozott a formációhoz Hegyaljai-Boros Zoltán, akit 2010-ben Riba Gergely követett a zenészek sorában. Ezzel lezárult az együttes instrumentális korszaka, hála a svéd orgánummal bíró texasi fiatalembernek. A Philosopher mára több tucatnyi koncertet tudhat a háta mögött. A zenekar szinte egyedül képviseli a progresszív death metal stílust a hazai zenei palettán. 2010-ben jelent meg első nagylemezük, melynek címe "Keep Dancing Music Will Come From Somewhere". A tíz számot tartalmazó anyaghoz kiadót keresnek!

The founding members of Philosopher were Quickhand Pete and Heavy Tact (they formerly played in the band called Rare Blue). When they started out in 2008 they played instrumental music. After several members changed Zoltán Hegyaljai-Boros joined the group (2009) on bass guitar, followed by Gergely Riba (2010) vocalist. With this final line-up the instrumental years have come to an end, but a new chapter started. The band mixes traditional death metal with progressive elements, creating a style that is hardly played by other bands in Hungary. After few dozen shows and a instrumental demo cd (2008) their first record "Keep dancing, music will come from somewhere" came out in 2010. All the ten songs from the album is audible on their myspace, and is available for purchase on the band's email address. The group is looking for a label!
