Philip Powel aka Phil Peoples [15-01-74]
Born in Rotterdam (Holland) to a Surinam father & Dutch mother in the 70's. He moved and grew up in a small town near Rotterdam in the eighties.
His love of music drives him to expose audiences to a wide range of sounds and has lead him to tour the globe, from Ibiza to Indonesia, Australia and South America, while spearheading the move of the popular Amsterdam-based party, KISS, to Barcalona in 2004.
Looking beyond the dance floor, Phil Peoples is a lover off cutting edge black music. His early musical roots can be traced back to sessions with the dutch/uk live band Gea Russell & Company. Years later, Phil Peoples released ‘vote revolution', a 12inch single featuring the dutch soul vocalist Miss Dee and co produced by the dutch recording artist Benny Sings
This vinyl singlerelease received international acclaim in Japan and England among other places, and inspired a new relationship between a new generation of innovative dutch producers.

In 2001 he and colleague Sasha Dees founded the first European hiphop filmfestival of Europe ‘Black Soil’
Phil Peoples has made a life based on one choice to touch the souls of many, invades the hearts of plenty and lives, breathes, and shares the type of music that make a listener remember his soul.
