Everyone I've heard who has musical integrity, a creative spark and true passion for music continues to influence me. I could cite so many great artists that everyone knows, so I'd like to mention a few people that you probably don't know whose teaching, musicianship or leadership has influenced me deeply: Clipper Anderson, bassist, Seattle WA; Loren Wenz, music teacher, Salem, OR; Phil Mattson, music teacher, Creston, IA; Pete Arthur, teacher, Spokane, WA; Bob Secor, arranger, Stockton, CA; Jeff Redlawsk, drummer, Redwood City, CA.
Sounds Like
I pretty much sound like me. But if you don't hear some Billy Joel in my vocal style, you're not listening.
San Francisco Bay Area composer and music producer Phil Schroeder has been composing advertising music for over twenty years. With a roster of clients that's a who's who of major American companies, Phil's work has been part of thousands of marketing and promotional campaigns. As the owner and primary composer at Green Street Music in San Francisco since 1990, Phil created songs and soundtracks for Sun Microsystems, Dole Food Company, Bank of America, Wells Fargo Bank, Lucky Stores, Safeway, Lincoln Mercury, Ford, and many more. He has scored music for television as well, including A&E's "Sportswives," Fit TV's "Diet Doctor," and various other documentaries.
In the past five years, Phil has worked almost exclusively in creating motivating and entertaining musical events for major corporate events, and travels frequently to Las Vegas and Orlando.
Phil's personal musical interests are wide and varied, but one of his favorite hobbies is pop music songwriting. Here are a few selections from his not-too-famous "half album" from 2004, The First One.
