   About Phil Wilson

Following the end of the June Brides, I had a brief solo career - releasing cracking singles on Creation and Caff Records which nobody bought! So in 1987 I decided to take a break from music and recoup.....

In early 2007 I decided, however, that I'd had enough of a break.... I therefore gave up my job and moved to the West Country and started recording (at home) again. I started off by mostly recording cover versions. I liked the idea of re-learning how to be a musician and songwriter by doing other people's songs. New songs of my own are coming...slowly....They will be released on a new album on Slumberland Records in the USA and on Yesboyicecream over here in due course.
I formed a new band in 2008 with Andy Fonda (drums) and Arash Torabi (Bass) to go and play live again. I missed it! We're joined occasionally by Frank Sweeney (viola) and Jon Hunter (trumpet). So far, we've played a West Coast US tour, the Indietracks festival, done a German tour with Woodpigeon, and played several UK dates. We have also done a live session for the Marc Riley show on BBC 6Music. We are ready, willing and able to do some more...

The "Industrial Strength" double seven inch single is out on the mighty Slumberland record label. You can get details by clicking the picture sleeve, or purchase it direct from Slumberland by clicking the "Add to Cart" button below.

"Neon Lights" from the Industrial Strength EP.

New song "Up to London" live with Arash Torabi and Andy Fonda

"Every Conversation" - 2008 version. The 7 inch single featuring this, and Sarandon's, version of Every Conversation can be purchased from Every Conversation Records (see my top friends).

"In the Rain" - with The Tyde

The extremely elegant eighth issue of Your Heart Out is a special edition called The Historical Romance. It was inspired by seeing a film about the jazz singer Jackie Paris, which prompted all sorts of thoughts about fate and fortune.

The Historical Romance is a bit of an odyssey that takes in Jackie Cain & Roy Kral, Billy Vera & Judy Clay, Red Krayola & Clinic, Johnny Thunders & Patti Palladin, Freda Payne & Pennies From Heaven, plus much, much more ...

Please tell the world that it can be downloaded for free from our library over at:

Nooo! Please don't lose hope, Phil! Things seem to be going so well for you at the moment...

Are you just going through a lean period (an undeniably mean period)??

I always find mindless violence works wonders on such occasions...

Just a thought..
