Following the end of the June Brides, I had a brief solo career - releasing cracking singles on Creation and Caff Records which nobody bought! So in 1987 I decided to take a break from music and recoup.....
In early 2007 I decided, however, that I'd had enough of a break.... I therefore gave up my job and moved to the West Country and started recording (at home) again.
I started off by mostly recording cover versions. I liked the idea of re-learning how to be a musician and songwriter by doing other people's songs. New songs of my own are coming...slowly....They will be released on a new album on Slumberland Records in the USA and on Yesboyicecream over here in due course.
I formed a new band in 2008 with Andy Fonda (drums) and Arash Torabi (Bass) to go and play live again. I missed it! We're joined occasionally by Frank Sweeney (viola) and Jon Hunter (trumpet). So far, we've played a West Coast US tour, the Indietracks festival, done a German tour with Woodpigeon, and played several UK dates. We have also done a live session for the Marc Riley show on BBC 6Music. We are ready, willing and able to do some more...

The extremely elegant eighth issue of Your Heart Out is a special edition called The Historical Romance. It was inspired by seeing a film about the jazz singer Jackie Paris, which prompted all sorts of thoughts about fate and fortune.
The Historical Romance is a bit of an odyssey that takes in Jackie Cain & Roy Kral, Billy Vera & Judy Clay, Red Krayola & Clinic, Johnny Thunders & Patti Palladin, Freda Payne & Pennies From Heaven, plus much, much more ...
