What do you need to know that you don't know already? Chances are, if you're on my list, then I know you through school, or work, or some other commonplace where it would be required to know you well enough to add you to this MySpace profile. :) On the other hand though, ask me anything you'd like to know. And I do mean anything! I believe that those who see themselves as open books and share their "selves" with the world openly can greatly infuence the lives of others in a positive way.
So I work at Starbucks and have been since January 27, 2005. I got the job in hopes of something better. I had just come from Elephant Bar Restaurant and the way I felt the employees were treated was not to my high standard. Upon the first few weeks of working at Starbucks I felt a newfound glory. Even though there were about 15 other partners/employees I still felt that each and every one of us was treated as unique and special. You may think, "It's just coffee," but if you really get into the history of coffee you will find that it is quite interesting. It's nice to know that one cup of coffee that you purchase each day can be traced back to it's origin. It not only benefits you as a customer or me as a partner but the farmers back where it came from and the economy of the origin from whence it came.
Starbucks is by far the best company I have worked for. I have developed so many relationships and friendships that I can honestly say it is like a second family. The drama that comes with it is miniscule compared to the benefits. Even though I waver to say that everything is perfect at Starbucks - nothing ever is. Perfection is the vision we have in setting our goals. We always want what we can't have and attempt to attain the highest. The trick is to realize that the dreams and goals you set are never really far off, in fact, they are only right around the corner. As long as you do your best, that should be enough to keep you striving for the turn around the corner. If we truly attained perfection, I don't think we would ever have any fun, considering dreams would never exist anymore. We would never have to dream of how things COULD BE or how they SHOULD BE. We would just live the same damned perfect life, over and over, never wishing or dreaming of a perfect tomorrow.
Well, enough of that ranting and raving, I think you get what I mean. If you ever get the chance to visit me in my second home away from home, come on by. If you are a partner, then hopefully you know how I feel and continue to strive for those dreams because "Nothing is Impossible, you just have to treat your probabilites as possibilites and work from there..." Have a Starbuckian Day.
